Think very carefully before making a booking with this company. Customer service is non existent, I made a booking for October to celebrate my sons 5th birthday. Unfortunately my husband has been made to stay abroad at work for much longer so we rang and changed the date for the following weekend, no problem and paid a £25 fee. Again my husband finds out he has to stay at work for the entire October period so we decide to book for Easter holidays which would be an additional £200+ which is fine as we don’t want to lose out on our first camping trip. My husband rang on Friday and spoke with the owner, extremely rude man! He tells my husband that what we are asking is totally crazy and we are basically asking for a “free” holiday?! Not sure how he came up with that when we have already paid over £500 and was willing to pay £200+ plus more amendment fees just to move to a suitable date! So now we have lost our trip plus over £500! Told to contact holiday insurance! Been trying to ring all weekend and this morning but nobody answers the phones! HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND! 🙅🏻♀️
In response to this awful company. I would like to point out that you read reviews properly before responding. I already stated that it was our second time trying to change the date of our stay and this request was done on the 25/09/2020 which is a full two weeks before our stay was due. I was appalled by the way you decided to speak to my husband on the phone not by the lack of people picking up the phone on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday! You told us that we was asking for a free holiday by changing dates and to contact our travel insurance. You then emailed this morning after 9am again stating you would not move the dates and that I should respond if I want to proceed with cancelling our booking. So after being told a number of times you would not be willing to help or change the dates I have decided to leave my honest review of how your company has decided to treat us! Thanks and...
Read moreI have never written a review before, however I felt I wanted to share my not so good experience after spending the Easter weekend here with my husband and 2 children. I am not writing this review with no other experience of glamping at Easter in similar weather conditions, as last year we stayed in a Featherdown Farm Tent in Dorset.||||Firstly the communication prior to our arrival was very poor, we were told we would receive an e-mail confirming all details 2 weeks prior to our arrival - I didn't. Then when I rang to order a meal (which never arrived!!!) we were informed that due to the time of year it was advisable to order additional wood at an extra cost of £10 per day. Luckily we declined as I felt we wouldn't need it due to our experience last year and I was right!! There is plenty of wood provided daily so clearly just trying to get more money out of people.||||I can't complain about the tents as they were really lovely and yes a slight upgrade on Featherdown. However, the ground surrounding our tent was sooooo boggy from the week before when they had had rain that the children (aged 4 and 5) could barely manage to walk. There was no way they could utilise the space surrounding the tents as it was just so muddy and I think would have taken at least a few weeks of NO rain to dry out!! The tents have clearly been built on Marsh land, which when paying 5* prices I expect 5* surroundings.||||The beach which is advertised as walking distance is quite a hike, I walked it at a pace and it took 1hr round trip!! Anyone with small children will know that at the end of a day playing the last thing they want to do is walk the 30 mins (with tired children I would say 45-1hr) back to the site!! The village was along a rather busy road so we never attempted this with the kids as their was no pavement but I would estimate a 30 min walk.||||Needless to say we will not be returning but going to the far better...
Read moreThis is my first ever review on trip advisor. Just really felt the need to give Wild Luxury a massive complement. ||I'm a father to 4 children 15,11,8 and 4. My wife and I were looking for a nice family Easter break. Somewhere you could take a dog. Having only just become a dog owning family this was going to be a new experience for us. After a few nights searching and researching we came across Wild Luxury. My wife Louise did all the booking. All very easy and clear. We stayed at the Hideaway. It was perfect for the children. They had a small playground swingball next to every tent. A badminton/volleyball net and basketball hoop. Outside each tent was a picnic bench and a few logs to sit on. A very short walk away was a small wood where the children made dens and climbed trees. It was great for the kids they felt like they were having a real adventure. ||The camp also had a goat with 2 young kids and several chickens roaming around. You can go and get the eggs through the day. First come first served. ||My eldest son didn't get board either. Amazing the effect these kind of holidays have on teenagers. When you look out of the tent and he's playing scrabble with his younger sister words fail you. He also loved getting the wood and keeping the wood stove going. ||We did go out to eat most days lunch and dinner. (Lazy)|The Gin Trap and The Orange Tree being our favourites. ||On rainy days we popped into Fred's Play Barn. Good for the little ones and not bad food. ||All in all a fantastic holiday. We live a very busy life and this completely recharged the batteries. It also brought us all closer together. |On the last night we had a meal at The Gin Trap. We sat around the table for 2 hours reminiscing asking each other about happy/funny memories. I know that in the future we will reminisce about...
