After an issue with the dates (100% Tiffany's fault for not being forthcoming and honest from the beginning about weekend availability) to then being told that even if there is another lockdown, she won't move the dates again (??) We just felt that throughout the entire booking process, they were doing us a favour even though we were the ones handing over our hard earned money. Tiffany even bad mouthed me to my own husband over the phone, I heard the entire exchange - we had a good laugh about that afterwards.
Even upon arrival you are not made to feel welcome, just a list of rules and demands to get through - a copywriter could easily soften this to make guests feel more welcome and not like they're at boarding school. I do wonder why these people went into hospitality in the first place, if I'm totally honest it is baffling. There are a few reviews stating that guests weren't made to feel welcome and that Tiffany was rude. Pretty sure we saw her on the grounds too, and she didn't even wave at us 🤣
Once we there there we also had an issue with the hot water, which once more was received with a blunt text about how there is not an "endless supply of hot water." No apology, nothing. To point out, we filled the bath only 1/4 of the way and the water was ice cold. Would be good to have some (friendly) instructions maybe letting guests know to only fill this a few inches high.
I wouldn't quite call it rural as you are off a busy main road and can constantly hear cars but that didn't bother us.
We won't return due to the above reasons, there are many cabin holidays available in the UK where you are treated like a guest and not an annoyance. Just keep in mind that you won't be given much respect as a...
Read moreWe stayed in the Montana Cabin which was spacious, well maintained and modern. Love that there is plenty of space to park your car right next to the cabin, also love that there is a no pets policy as at other lodges we've been woken up by barking dogs or had broken remote controls which have been chewed up. Having Netflix included was also a nice touch so you don’t have to worry about forgetting to log yourself out.
However there is a lot of room for improvement. The outside tub was not clean, it looked like it hadn't been used in a while with lots of spiders crawling around in it. I understand that this is outdoors but a cover over it would have helped. Speaking of spiders, there were spiders in every corner of the cabin. I must have killed at least 10-15, this has never been an issue in other cabins we've stayed at in other places. The WiFi was bad, at times it simply would not connect and it didn't reach the bedroom. There was just 1 toilet roll provided for a 2 night stay (we looked everywhere but there were no extras) so we had to go and buy some more ourselves, considering we paid almost £200 a night this is something you simply shouldn't have to do. Check out is very early at 10am, pretty much every other place we've stayed has a 12pm check out time which is much more reasonable (we would have requested a later check-out but the website states there is an additional charge). Finally, in the welcome message we were specifically told to ignore the sat nav and were given a long list of directions to the location which was confusing and actually made it more difficult in finding it. Eventually we used our Google Maps Sat Nav which took us directly to the...
Read moreSadly this is promoted as luxury. It's only just 3 stars at best. Great location but focused only on income and not so much there guests. We arrived on a very cold valentines day paying premium price for the special weekend. Not so much as a heater turned on for a warm welcome. If fact it took considerable time to get the hut warm. They supply a small quantity of fire wood. For a very small wood heater facing the bed. Fast burning wood even though we shut the fire to maximise burn it just is not enough in such weather. The electric heater was programmed to go of at 11pm unknown to us, and set for 3pm next afternoon. It was not a warm place to wake up in. The condensation build up was massive. You have a small complimentary coffee ,tea and sugar of which the one tea spoon in the kitchen does not fit into the jar for coffee. No milk either. We did have a beautiful large bath tub. But no shower connected to it. This was odd to say the least. Nor do you have a heated towel rack in the bathroom. If left handed you will bang your arm on the door while brushing your hair. Bring your own soap because the thin sample supplied is embarrassing. The area presents beautifully and they have invested to make it look good. Making it look good be it on site or from their Web site does not justify luxury. They communicate well. Mobile reception on three and O2 was extremely poor as was the internet provided. Which we think was boosted from main house. An air vent to allow for closed windows in cold weather would...
