Stayed 2 nights as came up to the area for a family funeral. |The staff were absolutely wonderful and the room clean other than quite a lot of cobwebs behind the TV, which I discovered trying to turn the switch on as it had been switched off at the socket behind the tv. |When we arrived it was about 29 degrees out and the lovely lady on reception offered us a double sheet in case the duvet was too warm for us. Warm was an understatement! Although they'd left the curtains closed and a fan going full blast, even Lucifer would have found the room too hot. Needless to say neither of us slept much during the 2 nights. We actually didn't feel too well after spending a night in that heat. |We ate at the restaurant on the first night. Food was good and staff were wonderful with the added bonus of air con. Was a shame to see the restaurant so run down. I grew up around there so remember the pub/restaurant when it was thriving. |All in all it's a good premier inn and handy to visit family but if I stay again I'll bring my own tower fan. |Just want to add the whole staff team we came across were great. Friendly and helpful|Other than the extreme...
Read moreI really wanted to love our stay here. We stay in Premier Inns quite often with our toddler, and like those other stays this hotel is clean and the staff are amazing. The lady on the front desk went out of her way to sort our room even though we were a bit early, staff at breakfast were friendly and efficient and even a lady from housekeeping made an effort with our 2 year old when she was already super busy. ||Unfortunately, we did decide to cut our stay short and only stayed one of the two nights. As others have said, the heat in the room is unbearable. Despite what others have said, the website does specify that there is no air con at the hotel, so we brought our own fan with us. As the window barely opens, it was incredibly stuffy and the fans did little to help. It meant that none of us actually got any sleep. ||The only other thing to mention is that signal is almost non-existent and even the paid for wifi does not work in some of the rooms. It was only £5 so not the end of the world, but I wish I had known before I went so I could download a film for the inevitable early evening in the dark once the toddler had...
Read moreOn arrival we were told there was no lift so I had to request to change rooms to ground floor as we were travelling with a small baby and a buggy. The male receptionist did offer to help us upstairs but it would have been impractical to do this every time we needed to come in and out.
The room was very hot and even after turning the thermostat down and with the window open it was still clammy. After we stripped the bed before checking out we noticed the duvet inside the sheets was badly stained.
We had dinner on the first night. The restaurant was empty but still took a long time for food to be served. Food was ok. Some of the seats had damage to them with damaged repairs (see photo) which wasn’t nice to look at while waiting. Breakfast was average with hard poached eggs and dry...
