Holwell Farmhouse — Hotel in Mid Devon

We had a fantastic time staying at the farmhouse for my hen do. Ollie was really helpful, showing us round the house and he had left some nice treats for us to enjoy. The house is perfectly set up for large groups, with the kitchen being incredibly well equipped. The house has been done up really nicely but is also very comfortable. All the bedrooms are a nice size so there was no arguing over rooms, and it’s a great touch to have two lounge areas - one for day and one for night. It meant there were lots of places for us to all hang out and chat. We had a wonderful evening meal cooked for us by The Kitchen Garden Somerset and enjoyed some fun cocktail making with Cocktails and Games, and again the kitchen worked really well for both activities due to the huge kitchen table! WOW! What a venue. Cannot recommend Holwell Farmhouse enough. We arranged our friends Hen Do at the venue and what an amazing time we had! From the moment of booking Ollie was excellent and extremely accommodating. The property has been done to an extremely high spec. The furnishings and interior are gorgeous! The rooms are spacious and could easily fit 16 adults down for supper each night! The exterior is idyllic, rolling country views and no neighbours in sight. Plenty of room to play garden games, light the fire pits, soak in the hot tub and dance! No need to leave the venue but if you did, there’s pubs and shops in the village which is only a short walk away. We spent the weekend here in November 2022 as a group of 13 friends. We were all blown away by the beautiful property and the views. The farmhouse is decorated beautifully, with lovely log burners and the kitchen is particularly nice. Everyone loved the welcome package of carrot cake and flapjack. The hot tub is a great size and we enjoyed an afternoon of croquet and table tennis too. It was also a lovely surprise to see the herd of red deer behind the house in the afternoon. Ollie was also very helpful and friendly, though we didn't get to meet face to face he was very responsive on WhatsApp and made sure our stay was perfect. Couldn't recommend this place...
