Ardbeg Guest House — Hotel in Mull

I wish I had taken photos of this charming guest house where we spent two magical nights on Mull. Brian and Iona are the quintessential kind Scottish couple, who have turned this house into the coziest B&B I could ever imagine. Aquarium and eccentric collection of trinkets in the entry way. Rooms upstairs are humble, warm abodes--our room looked out to the garden and I started both my mornings sipping tea staring out the window at a birdsong-filled, drizzly Scottish island dawn. Breakfast was a home cooked and hearty (full till dinner, don't hold back on the butter sort of thing) complete w/ sausage, eggs, and beans. Hike up the road a number of miles for a lovely walk to the coast. And in the evening, walk down into "town" (a couple dozen houses) for dinner at the Bellachroy Hotel, followed by drinks at the bar, complete with darts and exuberant discussion with locals. 10/10 Book this B&B and for a TRULY Scottish...

We stayed four nights with Iona and Brian who were very friendly and interesting to talk to. The village is very small and remote with a beautiful view from the bedroom||The room was fine for us. Very comfortable and clean bed with en suite… a small bath and toilet. ||The breakfasts were lovely… we really enjoyed the fresh eggs from the hens in the garden. We also really liked having a comfortable sitting area to read on a rainy afternoon! ||||The local pub was good, but it was very busy and you couldn’t book so we had to go very early to try to get a table. Not much other choice of places...

Ardbeg Guest House is a beautiful old House full of character in a very quiet and peaceful location with a beautiful garden and views. Brian and Iona are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is a great selection of cereals and fruit and cooked breakfast is freshly cooked and very nice. The bedroom is very spacious and very comfortable and the bathroom is good too. Although I think Dudley and Randall the dogs secretly own the B&B and Brian and Iona just do as they are told! Hehehe We stayed for 10 days and loved every minute we were there and I miss...
