The Crewe Arms Hotel — Hotel in Newcastle-under-Lyme

Avoid. There are hotels with better customer service than this place nearby at a similar price. I have booked this hotel twice. Once for my brother, his wife, and my sister then again for my son and his family. My brother commented that the guy running the place was rude but other than that it was OK. I thought maybe he was having a bad day. However, I experienced it myself when joining my son and his family at breakfast this morning. We were told that we booked at 9am for breakfast which was untrue, he said they could not give us breakfast at 8am because the hotel was full. There were only 2 other tables in use in the breakfast room. His attitude was awful. He was very rude. So despite having paid for breakfast when I booked the hotel we had to go somewhere else to get it. i have 5 children all with children of there own. Plus a brother and sister and they all live in different parts of the country that visit regularly. I thought I would support a local business and accommodate them at the Crewe Arms Hotel near Madeley. How naive I was. Went last night with family after being told how good the food was...& IT IS!!! ||But the front of house who took the order and served the food was DIABOLICAL!!! Very abrupt verging in Rude... not at all courteous... in fact a couldn’t care less attitude!|The place should have been Heaving Ona Saturday considering the food quality but the place was virtually empty....!!!! service is the reason we’ll Never go back to this place... the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant.||Don’t ask for a wine menu... they don’t have one, but serve wine! When we asked if they have one we were met with an Abrupt NO!... asking for water seemed totally alien to him...bizarre!|When the plates were placed on the table they were slammed down with such force we thought they’d break... no excuse me while they were chucked down in front of us as we conversed....literally just barged them in front of you...|As I say it was such a shame as the food is brilliant but not worth the couldn’t...
