We booked a Seaview Shepherd's Hut at High Bullen Farm needing to get off grid for a while and loved this location! The hut itself is SO cosy and felt like a cacoon of beautiful soft yellow & pine furnishings. No woodburner but a lovely firepit outside with wood provided. Amazing looking out towards the twinkling lights of Wales across the bay! I thought the outdoor washing up area was fffffab and ingeniously rigged up on a fixed shelf looking out to Wales over the field!! In the morning we set out on foot towards Woody Bay, cooked up some pasta at Lee Bay beach and followed the coast path through the Valley of the Rocks into Lynmouth, took the last funicular up the hill and followed the river til the garage & the last big hill back up to the farm.A 15 mile round trip and well worth it!! Utterly stunning and is now in our minds eye as a great escape! Hadn't expected a hot shower with the hut so utter luxury ! We loved the George Foreman grill for cooking up steak and an evening grill! Pauline provided coffee & tea and even asked if we had milk! Lovely fluffy towels too! We were particularly encapsulated by how Pauline and family had come to Exmoor as HS2 victims and will definitely tell their story to all. This is a new business venture however Pauline has great flair at providing everything needed to make it cosy!! Our very own Little House on the Prairie for...

A chance meeting with Pauline and Doug in the garden of a tapas restaurant in Lynton was the start of a dream come true. With nowhere to stay on the eve of my birthday, Pauline and Doug offered their exclusive Sunset Hut for a night’s stay. It was wonderful! The hut itself was positioned at the end of a field, totally private with a gorgeous view over Dartmoor (and sunset!), beautifully furnished, with a very cozy, comfy bed (fresh cotton linen), table, chairs, gas stove and a box of fudge! A drop toilet and shower hut was comfortably accommodating even for a camping- phobe like me! The wind howled during the night, but we remained warm and snug inside. A truly romantic, beautiful and unforgettable experience! Doug and Pauline are wonderful hosts and I hope will be (especially after this very late review), forever friends! They not only trusted us to move in whenever it suited us but they were on hand, very much in the background (giving optimal privacy) if anything was needed and the following morning gave detailed routes of a most perfect birthday walk. A most incredible and unforgettable place! Serenity and blissful tranquility - a special paradise for all of us to reconnect with nature and...

We had the most wonderful 3 night stay in Sunset Hut at High Bullen Farm, the hut is so cosy, comfortable & well equipped. The views of the fields and sea from the Shepherds hut are breathtaking, and we loved watching the ponies & foals in the field opposite. The pigs are absolutely gorgeous, seeing them wander into our field every morning and feeding them our scraps was the highlight of our holiday!

We used the farm as a base to explore lovely Lynton & Lynmouth with it’s fab array of cafes & shops. The cliff railway is a must visit! As well as Porlock Weir and surrounding Exmoor.

On our last night we wandered out onto Exmoor for a 2hr walk, straight from the farm before returning to the cosy hut & spending the evening by the fire.

We could not have wished for a more comfortable or restful stay & will 1000% be back again! Thank you so much Pauline, what a special...

Spend 4 days staying in Jackdaw what an amazing place.. booked it for a family get together.. It was perfect. I took a sneaky look at the Shepherd's Huts to see what else was on offer.. so romantic and stunning views. You can see the sea from your garden and the sunset was mind-blowing. Got to feed the "micro" pigs... I think they got that one wrong when they bought them. So big. It would be a perfect place for romantic weekend. Family gathering, or just a place to switch off and unwind. Our television wasn't switched on once, phone only brought out to take pictures or to use as a satnav. Children would love it there, 2 foals where in the fields plus lots of other horses . Chickens to feed, just a totally amazing place. That you Pauline and Doug for making our time at Hjgh Bulken so memorable. Good luck to both

What a magnificent place to escape to! Just spent a fabulous 4 day weekend with family at High Bullen. What a treat! Peace and quiet guaranteed whilst watching young horses playing in the surrounding fields. You can walk for miles on the moors. Just add a few trips into Linton and Lynmouth for a dip in the sea and a glass of wine. BBQ in the evening. Bliss. Hosts Pauline and Doug made every effort to ensure that we had a fun, comfortable stay. We stayed in the lodge which was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Cottages and Shepherd huts look great. The Sunset hut looks amazing! Ahh …next time
