Mornacott Farm Holiday Cottages — Hotel in North Devon

Service5.0Off the beaten track cottage. The 2 bedrooms upstairs were spacious, beautifully clean bedding, comfy mattresses & shared a large bathroom. Clean & super large fluffy towels. Lovely views from both rooms & very peaceful. The bedroom on the ground floor double/twin was very tiny & only a small drawer unit & no wardrobe! This was disappointing as we had nowhere to put our cases. The en suite shower cubicle could do with a deep clean. The kitchen was a good size with a large table, the fridge was small, there were no t-towels or oven gloves. plenty of cooking pans, utensils, only 6 cups !! The living area was a good space & the children enjoyed all the channels. We couldn't lock the door to the garden with the key but there is a bolt at the top. We bought more pegs to hang our washing out, there is a laundry room but only 1 washing machine was working, 1 was out of order, so we had to wait to use it as its also used by the housekeeper. The children loved the games room ( in need of new ping pong bats ) bring your own. The pool & sauna was a hit for all the family, fabulous. The location is good for a peaceful away from it all holiday & beaches & places of interest are not so far away. We visted Weston-super-Mare, Appledore, Quince Honey Farm, Knightshayes NT, Valley of the Rocks with spectacular views & a delightful cafe, Exmoore Zoo & the Tarka Trail 20 mile bike ride. All in all a very pleasent holiday with family. I'd have given 5 stars but there are just a few things that need to be addressed...

Just back from a week long stay in Barn Cottage. We've stayed at several self catering places and were very happily surprised by how spacious and airy the cottage was. Brilliant attention to detail means you have everything you need, even extra towels for the pool. The appliances are all first class, lovely big oven and a well thought out laundry on site with several machines. Situated in a lovely area, perfect for a lazy day walking/relaxing or for longer trips out to the stunning north coast of Devon. Beautiful beaches nearby. Amazing swimming pool on site with sauna. Friendly owners. Amazing welcome pack. Can't fault it at all and would love to return....

We rented orchard cottage for a short family break with 6 adults and 3 children under 5. The cottage was beautiful with amazing views and we were greeted and shown around by Archie who was fantastic. The swimming pool is large deep and warm and great for family fun and relaxation along with the sauna it makes for a perfect chill time. They have a games room with pool table, table tennis and games. The darts need new flights so be aware if you enjoy darts, take some flights with you. Nice and private location down a country lane but close enough to town if you need anything. Highly recommended if you want a relaxing private family holiday without...
