We checked in last night 27th May. On arriving at the Hotel, it was clearly a builders Hotel as they were all sat outside knocking back pint after pint. We checked In, very poor and uninterested staff ,I was in my wheelchair and not at all throughout did they ask if in the event of evacuation would I need assistance. We got our room 249 , as we went in it smelt like someone was cooking. The room had not been cleaned at all well , The bed has got to be the worst I have every slept on. So uncomfortable and kept moving . The room was meant to be quiet away from the road but clearly that's all you heard all night. We did not get any sleep at all. Breakfast was an experience, there was no atmospheres, no music , staff not even greeting you with a good morning. The fresh fruit salad was clearly a few days old. The toast arrived cold You were limited to one small glass orange juice The cooked breakfast was hot , very small in portion and quanity and served on a child's main course plate. All the staff appeared to be so miserable and to be honest did not look as if they wanted to be there at all On check out the receptionist processed our payment so quick and did not ask if we enjoyed our stay , any issues, nothing Having stayed with you a few years ago , the hotel has lost its Wow factor , lost its kerb appeal, the bar and restaurants were dirty This morning when coming down for breakfast , it was corridors full of room service plates on the floors and housekeeping not doing anything about it and watched me struggle to manoeuvre my way in the wheelchair It is sad as it was once a lovely place to visit and stay. If you want to get the cliente back that want the weekend breaks, then you need to get staff that want to work , be happy , meet and greet , engage with your customers, we felt we were just a number being added to your profit sheet Lincoln has so many new hotels opening and can I say better value for money and they care about their guests I would find it hard to recommend the Bentley after our appalling stay last night and would find it very hard to return unless things changed and staff attitudes changed dramatically I look forward to the opportunity to discuss this further with Best Western shod they wish to engage with us...

This booking was made by my mum who had booked the Spa and afternoon tea session for myself and my friend as a gift.
On arrival at the "SPA" that had kindly been booked for us, we were advised that some of the equipment was currently not in use due to issues beyond there control. We had not been here before so wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt.
The staff that showed us around were lovely I would like to point that out.
Whilst being shown round, it was evident that this place is tired and could do with a bit of a revamp. Scuffs on the walls, outdated equipment etc. Once left alone, myself and my friend looked around for ourselves. The changing room was appalling, clearly had not been cleaned for a while. We placed our towels on the floor to change so we didn't have to go hare foot it was that bad.
The steam room and aromatherapy room smelled of mould so we did not use these. One of the rainforest showers did not work as for one of the foot spa's also. The jacuzzi pool side was out of action also. The Sauna was tiny also. For two people it was a struggle so we also did not use this for long.
I'd say the best thing about this experience for us was not even the "SPA" or the afternoon tea, but was the pool. The pool itself had sand on the floor of it which was unusual. The pool was of a decent temperature though which was nice.
After our "SPA" experience we were advised of where to go for our afternoon tea which was in the bar area right in the back of the room. In our opinion there was no atmosphere at all, it was awkward if anything. Had it not been for the company I had, I probably would have left after the whole terrible experience. No music or anything.
The afternoon tea itself was OK, sandwiches were OK. The cakes were a little small and more bitezize portions. The scones however were as hard as a brick.
Overall our experience was terrible. Had it not been for the booking being made by my mum as a gift, I would have complained to...

The meal was poor, the service appalling, and the atmosphere non existent. It's no wonder the restaurant was quite quiet for a Friday evening ...
We (a party of six adults) were seated in a dark area with virtually no lighting and so were struggling to see what it was we were eating - however, this was possibly a blessing in disguise.
The waitress brought the bottles of wine ordered to the table and had already opened the bottles.
My husband ordered foie gras. A few minutes later the waitress returned and we were astounded to hear her make excuses about their butcher having sent a substandard foie gras that the chef was unwilling to serve.
Our table was near the kitchen and when one person needed to leave the table for a smoking/toilet break, two of us had to stand to allow them out! Unfortunately, one of the party smokes and, as our meal took almost two hours, this meant an evening of musical chairs trying to minimise the disruption. Things were so cramped that the waitress even had to lean across one diner to place a meal in front of me or across a rail between the table and the kitchen access.
We waited a substantial amount of time between courses. The waiting staff stood around chatting to other guests and we felt somewhat neglected. Some of the cutlery I had was dirty - solidified food on the dessert spoon - yuk!
The desserts were obviously bought in, of poor quality and the waitress poured the cream on before bringing it to the table. Surely we could have poured on our own cream?!
An expensive evening which was a disappointment to say the least. We will never risk another meal at this hotel.
