The Blue Boar Inn — Hotel in North Norfolk

Well we're do I start we arrived at the hotel for one night stay to go to see a show at thursford we arrived about 2 and from the time we walked in the door we were made to feel at home got a drink at the bar as we had travelled up from Kent then we were shown to our room well it was just amazing clean .large room with an on sweet with shower there was tea and coffee with biscuits two bottles of water for us to use as a dri nk or to put in the kettle on the bed side cabinet there was a box of tissue never had that at any other hotel I've stayed in there was shampoo body wash and a shower cap in the shower room again clean and loads of room once unpacked we went back down to the bar ready for our meal that we had pre booked I had a lamb shank and my wife had a gammon that was not on the menu but with my wife being a fussy eater thay got one in special well the chef is first class the lamb just fell off the bone the wife said the gammon was lovely had Bread and butter pudding for desert the wife had chocolate fudge cake spot on the landlady orderd us a taxi to go see the show when we got back from the show the hospitality continued drinks ready for us nibbles on the bar time for bed well the bed was so comfortable could have brought the mattress home with me .if you are ever up thar way pay them a visit you will not be sorry hospitality second to none thank you for a wonderful stay will definitely be booking...

We really liked it here. A friend eats and drinks here regularly and whilst it is a little distance from home, we decided to take a ride out. The Landlady greeted us. Very friendly and welcoming. The Inn itself dates back hundreds of years. Would be very cosy in the colder months with the fire lit. We chose to share Whitebait as a starter and then my partner had the Trio of Pork which consisted of Pork loin, Bacon chop and sausage with a variety of vegetables. It was Amazing! I had a Smoked Haddock dish with a white sauce. Delicious 😊 For dessert, I had ice cream....both clotted cream and a chocolate brownie variety. My partner had Marmalade Bread and Butter Pudding. Planned as a surprise birthday treat Laura and James could not have done any more to help me organise it discreetly or deliver fantastic food and hospitality. Having visited many years ago (when open directly to the public, not just residents) I knew the food and drink would be good, but this was personalised, private dining at its best. Great communication in planning, warm and sincere hosting making sure that everything went to plan. The room was warm, clean and comfortable, dinner excellent, the breakfast full in every sense of the word and nothing was too much trouble for a couple who take pride in their service - and it shows.
