What a week! My partner, my 11 year old, our 6 month cockapoo and I visited Birdholme Glamping for four nights. To say Glamping is slightly understated. Their lodges are very much beautiful luxury and the space around wraps you up in the most gorgeous green picture for you to relax and enjoy. Very well equipped and perfect for what we wanted. Even a bottle of fizz in the fridge upon our arrival. We spent days dipping in and out of the hot tub which over looks the balcony onto the beautiful views. Even in the chilly weather the balcony was my favourite space to be. Reading, doing puzzles and playing games. We made fires in the fire pit and thoroughly enjoyed utilising the bbq attachment for our dinners and marshmallows. Calming, romantic and bags of fun. I’ve not heard my 11 year old so say ‘I’m so happy’ so much before this week. We wandered out into the public footpaths and explored surrounding fields and also had a lovely meal in The Plough which was 2 min drive. The beds were very comfy and the shower room was great quality. Everything has been carefully thought out to make everything cozy and comfortable. It’s a really special space to disappear to with your family/friends and a week I...
Read moreMy husband, I and our cockapoo had a fabulous time at Birdholme Glamping. The weather was way below freezing overnight and the lodge was still extremely warm and cosy. It’s not obvious from the info and pics but there’s wardrobe space, shelving, coat hooks, along with room for bags and boots at the end of the corridor by the bathroom. It’s well equipped with everything you’d need for a break away. Not far away are Cotgrave and Rushcliffe country parks, which are both dog friendly, the latter with a dog agility course. If you have an electric vehicle, there’s fast charging points at Rushcliffe country park too and also in Keyworth on Bunny Lane Car Park. There’s a lovely farm shop nearby that sells everything you’d need to whip up a nice bite to eat. Or for eating out we visited The Griffin at Plumtree twice as we enjoyed it so much. You can book a table to eat in the bar and take your four legged friend. Food and service was excellent. We will definitely be returning for...
Read moreAbsolutely incredible stay. We stayed for a week and, in common with a lot of others, hardly left the site because it’s so lovely just to walk around, play in the woods or relax in the lodge. Lodges are fully equipped, beds really comfy, loads of towels and very clean sheets. Having the deck to sit on and look at the scenery is amazing, the fire pit and barbecue setup were fantastic - the kids loved sitting out for a meal and then toasting marshmallows! And, to top it all off, having a hot tub to relax in at the end of a long is just perfect. When we did venture offsite we found loads to do - farm shops, supermarkets for the all-important-holiday-shop, a swimming pool with a good family pool, and a great pub (The Plough at Normanton) for a beer or two. Would come back in a heartbeat and, much as we’d like to keep this place a secret, in reality I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a premium, relaxed glamping experience in stunning...
