We had the most wonderful week at the Captain's rest on Skye for our family holiday. Vivienne and Neil are lovely people and truly perfect hosts and the Captain's rest is a beautiful and comfortable house with lots of extras - the hot tub and the sauna in particular were the perfect way to wind down from a day of walking the incredible landscape on Skye. The views are incredible and we enjoyed sitting and watching the view. The house is fitted out in total luxury with everything you might need for your stay and lots of extras! It is obvious that the house has been furnished with so much care and attention, a true labour of love. Vivienne also left us lots of goodies in the kitchen for us and the kids. We were very well taken care of. The information they provide about the house and the area was really useful as its electronic so we could have a good read on our way up and we took many of the recommendations for things to do and places to eat. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for our wedding than The Captain's Rest. The accommodation was absolutely perfect—spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, and incredibly well thought out. The welcome drinks and cheeseboard were a fantastic way to start our stay, setting the tone for what turned out to be a truly memorable experience.

Vivienne was a brilliant host; her communication was prompt, helpful, and made everything so easy. Any questions we had or anything we needed, she was there to sort it out immediately. Her attention to detail and commitment to making our stay perfect truly made our experience unforgettable. The views were breathtaking, and the house itself exceeded all of our expectations.

Where to start What a beautiful place with the best views - we’ve been all around these 6 days and not found a view we’d rather have - Every night with drinks in hand we have watched the sea and mountain change colours and textures as the day ends - no evening has been the same. We’ve seen dolphins, white tailed sea eagles and mink (we think) from the window and golden eagles, deer, otters and of course highland cattle as we’ve travelled around.
