We had a lovely 4 night stay here, the lodges are a great relaxing break.
The hot tub in the Mulberry was very private. The bath was lovely, the bed was comfortable and the robes and welcome pack were a lovely touch. In the welcome pack you get fruit cake, bread, prosecco, milk, tea, coffee, sugar and some sachets of butter and jam. There is dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and some small toiletries. However only 1 toilet roll for 5 days between 2 people! So make sure you take some more as I’m not sure what couple only uses 1 toilet roll in a week?
The location is rural but it is isn’t brilliantly thought out – being in the middle of a farm leads to not being able to go in your hot tub some nights as it smells so bad outside of cow manure being sprayed onto the fields. Or even open a window!
We were lucky enough to have a couple of days of brilliant weather where temperatures got up to 27 degrees, however there were no fans in the lodge and every time you opened your window you were greeted by 10 daddy long legs and huge spiders all over the lodge so that wasn’t an option! The owner was lovely, when she messaged the following day to ask if we needed anything. We asked for a lodge and on return from our day out at Alton towers there was one at our door!
Wifi worked brilliantly and the lodge was very clean. Unfortunately we never got the sauna to work, apparently there was a switch you turned on on the outside – we did this and left it for a while and the sauna never came on. There were no instructions on how to use this which I thought should be in the welcome booklet.
A couple more towels were needed – you were given 1 large towel and a hand towel each for 5 days which when showering, bathing and going in the hot tub wasn’t enough really – so take an extra one with you.
My partner and I have stayed in many lodges so maybe we're just fussy and have a high standard - despite the gripes it was a...
Read moreWe needed somewhere local to stay while we had our only bathroom at home completely redone, and I was still having to go to work. Knights Lodges are about 5 minutes away from home, and have some lodges that are dog-friendly, which meant my mum, the dog and I could all move out for the 2 weeks while the bathroom was being done. Due to date availability, we booked a 3 bedroom lodge as it was available sooner and therefore cheaper than booking a 2 bed place. The lodge had a great layout - open plan living dining kitchen area, with a corridor for the bedrooms and bathroom. 1 double bedroom with en suite, 2 twin rooms. Plenty of storage space for clothes etc. Bathroom and en suite were clean and well laid out. Water pressure for the showers was impressive - like a massage!! Kitchen had enough things to see us through the 2 weeks - full size under counter fridge and separate freezer was a welcome surprise! Kettle, 4 slice toaster, microwave, oven and hob with extractor fan. Sink, dishwasher and, as we were in a 3 bed lodge, a washing machine (another little bonus!) Smart tvs in the living room and the 3 bedrooms, and WiFi provided (made working in the evenings easier) Hot tub on the decking - we didn't get round to using it, but there were lots of other lodges were using theirs. The outdoor space is still a little open, as the plant that have been put in for privacy still need to mature, but once in the tubs you do have some privacy. We would happily stay again and Will happily...
Read moreAbsolutely awful holiday! Would never ever return here. The people that run this have no idea how to speak to customers and all they care about is taking your money. We experienced an electrical fault in our lodge on the second day of being there. One half of the lodges electrics didn’t work including the hot tub, kitchen and main bedroom. The owner came to look at the issue and said it was the hot tub tripping the electrics and that we couldn’t use the hot tub. They refused to resolve the issue, did not offer us any solution and not once apologised for us not being able to use what we paid for. We spoke to the manager Jodie who answered the call quite rudely with “I’m driving” and then proceeded to tell us to calm down when we asked her to resolve the issue before hanging up the phone on us. For the rest of our stay they ignored all of our phone calls and we had to stay in this lodge with faulty electrics and no use of the hot tub for the rest of the stay. The lodge it’s self was lovely and the issue could have been quite easily resolved with alternatives but it’s a shame the people running it have no care for their customers when something goes wrong! I can see from other reviews on alternative booking platforms that people have had a similar experience in regards to their customer service. I would give this a zero if I could and will definitely not...
