Hill View — Hotel in South Kesteven

We stayed as a group of 16 on my Hen Do over the weekend of 7th Feb '25'

I appreciate the hosts advertise as happy to have Hen Dos, big parties etc and with that comes a reputation of lots of mess/accidents however not every Hen Do/party is like that and for us there were a few issues - the hosts are aware of this as I sent them some feedback before posting this.

General cleanliness of the place was not good. A mouldy dishwasher, mouldy mattresses - health issue right there, cob webs and dust in most rooms, curtain rails coming off the walls, A leaky first floor shower/bath flooding the ground floor toilet and shower room.

The postcode was an issue too, on google it is listed as Hill View and the postcode is PE10 0JN this is the correct one. The NG33 4RD which is what they give out to you leads you to another house down the road. A lot of us ended up there instead of at the actual house.

It would be helpful to have a sort of guest book with instructions for the house including the range master cooker which took us a while to work out how to use the hobs which kept turning off. Also about the house and local area; local shops, pubs etc.

There were no baking trays and if you are having large parties/families staying, there is going to be a lot of food cooked and there just wasnt enough equipment available.

The hot tub was lovely and we went to the 5 Bells down the road for some Sunday lunch. We also did a walk in Bourne Woods which I can recommend.

The house is a treasure and is a gorgeous house it just needs a bit of tlc and some general...

Spent a lot of money on this property for a 15 person hen do & the house just was not upto scratch, very dated & a lot of broken parts in the house. The bedrooms was covered in cobwebs & beds squeezed into rooms that wasn’t big enough for. TV in place in bedrooms but plug not long enough to reach a socket so could not be used? Really struggled to get warm showers, majority of the time we ended up having cold showers. When hosts called to help, they did in the end come out to the property but was very rude & accused us of lying & disrupting their weekend, but we have cold showers and the main communal toilet being broken & not flushing to be told it needs pumping several times and with force? Was made to feel very uncomfortable with the hosts, and felt if they did not want to be disturbed during the weekend they should hire a company to look after the home when in use.

The first night we had ants invest in the ground bedroom and upstairs en suite bedroom, the cooking utensils were all fairly dirty and needing all washing prior to use. House needs a major revamp, it’s got potential but it needs investing in to compensate for the amount of money it is to stay. Hot tubs and outdoor space was good, grass was overgrown though but just had a building site across the road being loud & offensive smells...

Beautiful big house and grounds for Children to play in ...but house needs a good deep clean and decorating needs doing /refurbishment...Alot of ladybirds in bedrooms ...Yes it's in the countryside but I've lived in countryside all my life and never seen the amount of ladybirds and spiders ...maybe due to cobwebs....!.....Hot tub died on us too Saturday afternoon which was unfortunate because that was one of the main reasons we booked ....no offer...
