As a 22 year old male, I have never ever written a review before because why would I, but this is the only thing in my life that has deserved one!
The Shooting Lodge is the perfect place for a bit of a remote relaxation. Took my partner here as a surprise 2 night stay for Valentine and our only regret is genuinely that we didn’t stay longer. (Make sure you pay for the late checkout… devastated that I didn’t)
The lodge is situated on a farm, so we were welcomed both mornings with some sheep just the other side of the fence while we had our breakfasts. We also saw a horses head pop up over the barn fence whilst in the hot-tub too!
The kitchen is suitably kitted out with everything you could think of. And even included a nespresso vertuo, which I’d recommend you buy pods for before hand. They are the larger dome like pods, not the skinnier ones.
The bathroom is perfect, with a nice big bath, and a walk in shower. And as I’ve been told by my partner, the shower products are really good quality (I wouldn’t know). There are also 2 robes and some bath towels as well as some beach towels, for you to use.
The wood fired hot-tub is such an amazing feature and allowed me to prove to my partner that I could make fire. I would recommend getting the hot-tub filled and heating as soon as you get there as it does take a while to get going, however once it’s heated, it carries its heat quite well as long as you use the cover provided.
Although the lodge is situated near wonderful places like Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick, I honestly think once you arrive you wont want to leave the lodge… apart from the nip just 2 minutes down the road to the Walton Hall Spa! I would recommend planning ahead and pre booking spa treatments though.
Julia and Anthony were always on the end of the phone to help us if we had any queries. They have thought of literally everything to make your stay as perfect as can be, and when I contacted them to ask if they could put up some Valentine decorations that I would provide, they happily obliged. Whether you’re looking for a cute little lodge for a relaxing trip, or a romantic getaway, this is the...
Read moreAs a family of 5, plus our cocker spaniel, we stayed at the Coach House for the New Year period. What an incredible place to stay. Not only is it designed and decorated to such a high standard, it’s stylish, comfortable and practical - from the abundance of cosy throws, the kitchen equipment available, down to the spacious shower and luxurious roll-top bath. As much as we had everything on our doorstep - Warwick Castle, Stratford upon Avon, and The Cotswolds, we were equally happy to relax in the accommodation - reading, watching tv, chilling in the hot tub. Speaking of hot tubs - Anthony (the owner of MPB) was on hand daily to assist with the heating of the hot tub, making it extremely easy for us. Being a hot tub novice, we really appreciated his expertise, plus what a treat it was coming home to a welcoming hot tub! Both Anthony and Julia were very welcoming - providing a lovely gift bag with some gorgeous goodies. We all love a gift bag right?!!? They went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and easy, also providing information on dog friendly places to eat and places of interest. We were happy to discover that most places in the surrounding areas were extremely dog friendly. We wouldn’t hesitate to return, and discussions are being had regarding another trip to The Coachhouse during the...
Read moreWe had a great stay at Mount Pleasant Barns! We stayed in the Shooting lodge which is a lovely luxury converted barn looking out onto miles of rolling fields and hills. The barn is spacious inside with a lovely bathroom, the walk-in shower is great especially after using the eco hot tub on the patio outside. There's a really nice original free standing bath to relax in also. The bedroom is very nice and comfortable. The kitchen/open living area is really nice. It's location is very handy as it's really only 15-20 mins from Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and Leamington Spa which we visited all three for a wander round for some independent shops, a bit of coffee and cake and there is plenty of lovely restaurants in these towns for an evening meal out. There is also some smaller village pubs closer by to get some dinner and a drink. Walton Hotel and spa is just down the lane from Mount Pleasant Barns where they offer a day pass for half price to use the facilities, we didn't do this but that's a great little added extra. Julia and Anthony were great with our booking and answered any questions we had, nothing too much trouble and they were very nice and accommodating. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and if we were in the area again we wouldn't hesitate...
