Visited this B&B for 1 night with friends |We were rang a few days before by the owner asking if we would mind checking in by 6pm instead of 5pm reason being he had friends over we said no 5pm was late enough and we had a meal booked at a local restaurant for 7pm (we were not impressed with the request) |When we arrived there wasn't anywhere to park easily as there were 2 cars on the drive another car then turned up who we discovered was the owner she asked if we could park one car on the road again not impressed but she did say that the other cars would be gone when we got back from the restaurant |So we parked our cars with one on the road ( nice to see that their friends come before paying guests) | got our bags and went in the house (we were told she would be with us when we went in ) we must have stood in the hall for about 10 mins until she came to show us to our rooms|We got our room she explained how to order breakfast then asked if we could stagger our breakfast times ,again we were not impressed and said no we came as a party to celebrate a special birthday |Rooms were not very clean and a bit shabby condensation running down windows as there were no extraction fans ,curtain linings were ripped |We went from our meal and were hoping to go back and sit in the lounge to finish of the night but we couldn't find in |( it is advertised on their web site ) |We asked the owner about this the next morning only to be told that the lounge was not heated in the winter and that it was their part of the house (so why advertise it) |Both owners were not very helpful and made us feel as though we were intruding even though we were paying to stay there |It did look as they were having some work done to the place which we weren't told about |breakfast was ok young lady serving us was very good and polite |To top it all off when we paid them we were told that she see us before we left but never did we didn't get a thank you goodbye or anything |Overall |Very very...
Read moreWinton House is an idyllic B&B near Stratford, in the heart of Upper Quinton, a quiet and beautiful village. We stayed in the Chapel Room, a very comfortable and peaceful room overlooking the flower-filled gardens at the back of the house. The room was very comfortable, with a four-poster bed included! The flat-screen tv, big fluffy towels, and extremely powerful shower all contributed to the boutique feel. The hosts, Alex and Jim, are very gracious, and really go to great lengths to make their guests comfortable. The breakfasts are hosted in the communual dining room, and are full and hearty, exactly what was needed after a visit to the pub the previous evening. I was also impressed with their very real and innovative committment to sustainability. Solar Panels are set on top of the garden house, and a brand new green boiler installed in one of the sheds. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return to explore this beautiful...

Hosts were charming too and you were made very welcome! Set in Upper Quinton but short drive to Stratford upon Avon. Pub nearby that you could walk to , but bear in mind you are in the countryside so not much Street lighting if walking back at night The pub , The College Arms , also had an Indian restaurant on site which was very good and was reasonably priced ! ||Various places listed to visit and eat at but bear in mind you are not in Stratford you are on the outskirts . Lots of places to visit too. Car definitely required but...
