A very basic 2 pushing 3 star standard with staff to match 4 star. Sadly if you say you are staying for business you get put in what they call the annexe which is the block closest to the road. Security to the block was via key card - sadly that was wrong and the door was left unopened during my weeks stay. On my arrival I was checked into room 302 to find that the bed hadnât been completely remade since the last occupant ( however reception kindly helped me remake the bed ) the bathroom had damp in the ceiling and the toilet seat was cracked. My company had paid for bed breakfast and evening meal but as I was leaving for work at 05:30 every day I was unable to get breakfast and they where unable to do me a pack up. To add injury to insult the premium wifi wouldnât connect continually and was impossible to get a refund. This premier inn is not so much premier but just inn. Even though the staff are first rate sadly the building and contents are not. This building ( annexe ) are in need of a major refurb. Security within the building is non existent due to the unlocked door. I would not recommend premier inn to business due to the lack of hygiene within the rooms ( damp in bathrooms cobwebs in bedrooms , see 302) There is another newer premier inn, travel lodge and numerous hotels and guest houses around Southampton to use until these premises come up to standard.
Update: Due to my review and pictures my company has cancelled all further bookings with this location for the indefinite future.. if you pay for breakfast you expect it and when you are shown a dinner menu you donât expect another A4 page to be given to you of whatâs not on the menu. The room was not up to standard (as can be seen in the pictures ) so as a result the money the company spends each at premier inn will be...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent stay in the family room at this Premier Inn was truly disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the room felt tired and neglected. The bathroom was in a dreadful state â mould was visible all around, and it was clear that maintenance and cleaning standards had slipped badly.||||The basics werenât even taken care of: the toilet roll holder was left empty, and the wall-mounted body wash dispenser had clearly been watered down, offering no actual soap. The bath itself was dirty and dangerously slippery, which made using it unpleasant. The shower was even worse â a pathetic trickle of water with no pressure, not adjustable in any way, and the heavy limescale build-up meant it sprayed water in every direction except where it was needed.||||Overall, the room felt tatty, run down, and poorly maintained. For a hotel that prides itself on offering comfort and reliability, this was a huge letdown. I certainly didnât feel it was worth the money and would not recommend staying here until serious improvements are made.||||The breakfast was just as disappointing as the room. Service felt rushed and unorganised, with staff seeming overwhelmed and little attention given to guests. The variety on offer was very limited, which is surprising given Premier Inn usually promotes a decent breakfast. The biggest frustration was the wait for eggs â long delays each time, and by the time they finally arrived the rest of the food was already going cold.||||Instead of being a relaxed start to the day, breakfast felt more like a stressful scramble, and it certainly wasnât worth the...
Read moreIt's a budget hotel, but I would've expected better from a Premier Inn. Receptionist a bit short and snotty on check in, she left my father in law standing like a numpty for 5 minutes as she nattered to a colleague (we booked in under a different family members name). Cobwebs in corner of the room, but otherwise clean enough. Bath water pressure is terrible and made squeaking noise while running. I imagine the shower won't be much better in the morning. Air conditioning non existent (despite having a panel to control the temperature) absolutely fantastic on the hottest day of the year so far with 2 toddlers. A fan provided but sounds like a Chinook taking off and absolutely caked in dust, looks like it's been in storage for 5 years. Just pushes hot air around the room. Due to the sweltering temperature we probably got a combined 4 hours sleep. Double bed, or larger bed, whatever size it is, creaks and groans when you move on it. Curtains don't block out enough light (again, great with 2 toddlers when trying to get them to sleep), so had to literally shut them into the window to get the room dark enough. Couldn't have window open as on ground floor. My mobile signal is pretty terrible here for some reason, the free WiFi is slow and requires sign in all the time. The food I wouldn't give to our dogs and bar is full of yobbos watching football, but staff are friendly so makes up for it. Didn't have things on the menu at dinner and breakfast ("Sorry we haven't got that") plus got breakfast order wrong several times. Will not be...
