Liked: Beautiful little site - we all loved it! Back to basics, but with hot water. :) We loved the freedom to camp wherever we wanted and came as a group of 5 families. We loved that you could walk into Stockbridge via a pretty country footpath where there were some great dog-friendly pubs and a beautiful walk along the river out to open fields, a place for children and dogs to paddle in the water. Compost toilets were a fun experience and the kitchen shed with a view of the campsite was perfect for washing up. We were lucky to have a long weekend of glorious sunshine and when the saplings dotted around the field grow up they’ll provide some lovely shade in the centre of the site.
I don’t know if we just got lucky with other visitors on our trip, but I feel like the site has a lovely relaxed and super friendly vibe. Our 5 families had 10 children between us and a dog and we all made friends with other families over the weekend. The children ran free and safe around the site and we had lots of welcome little visitors, sharing of toys and lots of fun.
Ooh and as other have said, yes the road is a little noisy in the day, but quiet at night, and more than made up for by the spectacular star gazing opportunities at night without zero light pollution!
Disliked: Not a dislike, but a suggestion for others; we were there on a bank holiday weekend so was pretty busy (though still felt like plenty of space). What wasn’t available though was a fire pit / picnic bench. Would recommend bringing your own pit and BBQ to guarantee being able to have a fire / BBQ if that’s your thing & you’re there over a busy...

Being on a hill, the views over Stockbridge valley and towards Danbury are superb, and rain drains away quickly, so no tent rivers or persistent mud! The site is large and well-maintained with sufficient tree lines for windbreaks.
Value for money: Couldn't believe how affordable it was! Made such a difference given the cost of living recently.
Cleanliness: The site has large bins for all waste and they're even a washing up shed for cleaning and hand-washing. The composting toilets are well-built, maintained and clean. The warm showers are very satisfying after a long day out walking to Danbury.
Customer Service: The owners are wonderful, friendly, and welcoming. They sent a text message with the gate code and came around a couple of times to check up on the site and ensure everything was okay.
Child friendliness: The site is very child-friendly, with plenty of space for children to play, ride their bikes, play football and run free. The ability to have a campfire was an obvious highlight!
Disliked: Not really a dislike but advice - if you don't manage to get a pitch next to a treelined, you would benefit from bringing your own windbreaks given the exposed nature...
Read moreI stayed for an extended period. The owner's made me feel very welcome. The showers & toilets are clean, well organised, the showers are relaxing with excellent hot water pressure. There is a washing up area as well with 2 large sinks, hot water, drainage space & a freezer for your ice packs/blocks. The Pitches are well laid out with solid wooden picnic benches. Security patrol do an excellent job & the feeling here is safe & professional. The site suits all stays, long term or short stays. The local village of Stockbridge is a short drive away & is a beautiful old English town with a few nice pubs, restaurants, Art Gallery, Co Operative shop & plenty of other pleasant buildings & shops on the high street. The site has ample rubbish disposal area, & the entrance is sign posted from the main road. I highly recommend you book a stay @ Stockbridge View, you will enjoy the site & surrounding areas which are beautiful ❤️ Thanks to all for making my stay an excellent one & I will return again. Five stars...
