We’ve just returned home from a two-night stay in the Gretel cabin at Kits Coty Glamping, and we had a really wonderful time. We found the site with no problems and received a very warm and friendly welcome from Ami, who gave us a handy tour of the site and facilities.
Our accommodation was beautifully presented and very clean – we loved the enchanted woodland fairy theme and had chosen this particular cabin as it had a nice big comfy bed plus bunk beds for the kids, which were extra fun with their own curtains you could pull across. There were so many creative and thoughtful touches, not just within the cabin but the whole site, and each time I thought I had noticed all these pretty and cleverly themed little additions, I would find yet another I hadn’t spotted before.
There was a generous welcome hamper included with our booking, including marshmallows and skewers for the firepit, some wildflower seeds to take home and a bag of sweets. We also added the pizza making kit to our booking so we could cook our own pizzas in the wood fired oven. Ami showed us exactly what to do as we’d not used one before and it was great fun making dinner together as a family. If we needed anything extra during our stay, all we had to do was pop back to reception and we felt able to do this without hesitation. We decided to purchase the beautifully hand drawn map of the local area (for just £1) so we could go and find the Kits Coty House historical site that was nearby, and it was well worth it.
There were privacy hedges around each accommodation which made for a nice, natural separation from other guests without being surrounded by fencing or bricks. The children’s play equipment outside was of good quality and in great condition, and was set in a huge expanse of grass that was great for running around in and enclosed so it felt completely safe. The site was quiet and peaceful, and we were lucky enough to enjoy two gorgeous sunsets whilst relaxing in the hammocks between the trees.
The other communal facilities were great – indoor/outdoor seating areas, kitchen, covered BBQ/gas stove area, toilets and shower rooms. The bathrooms were decorated really nicely and were more modern and clean than our own at home! We also noticed our firepit was discreetly cleaned out for us daily without us being disturbed.
My advice would be (a) to book a stay here, and (b) to read the guest guide book available on the website because I foolishly didn’t and it actually contains everything you would need to know! We hope to return again another time and will be recommending this lovely glamping...
Read moreAmazing experience at KCG, from a warm welcome from Ami who excels at hospitality. Afternoon tea was perfect on arrival, followed by pizza making with the children. Relaxing area to suit all needs- hammocks, play area for kids, large field to play family games, a little Hideaway with books and family games including darts.
Beautiful Alice in Wonderland communal seating areas which offer some nice shade when needed.
Food: Afternoon Tea - really tasty 2 scones per person, clotted cream, strawberry jam, strawberries and teapots with tea selection. Portion sizes were very good and nicely presented.
Pizza making - given tasty bases, pizza sauce, cheese, mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes, pepperoni, red onion and firewood for the stone oven. Easy to prepare and cook with leftover items to snack on during the meal.
The English breakfast offering in the morning was fantastic and really large portions of tasty meaty sausages, thick back bacon, mushrooms, eggs, loaf of bread, beans and tinned tomatoes. Also butter, jams, and chocolate spread for those wanting a lighter breakfast. To note they also offer a continental breakfast of pastries, fruit and yogurts but we didn't choose this offering.
Facilities : 2 showers with toilets and another 2 seperate toilets - very clean and well maintained. Automatic Lights when entering. Kitchen area includes everything you could need - 2 sinks, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, microwave, pots pans and utensils etc including drinking water taps. Cool boxes available with some ice blocks to keep drinks cool. Accommodation we stayed in the Festival tent. Clean and comfy beds that are off the floor, supplied with duvet blankets and 2 pillows. Lighted with fairy lights which helped kids feel comfortable going to sleep . The area offered our own BBQ, seating table with canopy, fireplace and benches. Perfect to truly relax and enjoy time together as a family. Lighting in the evenings is good not to need a torch to use the main facilities from tent to kitchen or bathrooms, which makes it easier to navigate with children.
A truly well organised clean accommodation with a very warm welcome, where the children are already asking when we can...
