What can I say, we had an absolutely brilliant time at Birchill farm with our granddaughter who really loved staying here! | We stayed in Willow cottage which overlooked the Alpaca and Donkey field .| The cottage was warm, cosy and very well equipped with lots of lovely touches. When we arrived there was a cream tea and milk to greet us and some chocolate buttons and dog treats.| There was so much to do both inside and outside with the play barn, play area and animal feeding every morning. It was such a nice thing to give the children a certificate at the end of their stay with more chocolate! | Amaiya loved collecting the eggs which we then had for breakfast and she enjoyed the tractor rides and helping Libby feeding the animals.| I would highly recommend staying at Birchill farm as it is a truly magical place and the owner Carolyn couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. It is conveniently situated near lots of places including Watermouth Castle which is a must visit for children of all ages. Also it is dog friendly and nearby Torrington common is perfect to take both children and dogs for a good run around off lead( the dogs not the children!), there is also a small play park and toilets there. The Tarka trail is nearby which is excellent for walking. There are also several supermarkets nearby to stock up with essentials.| Birchill farm is a very calming and relaxing place to stay away from the humdrum of everyday life, I guarantee you will love it as...
Read moreBirchill Farm Cottages is 5 star accommodation in rural Devon but still close enough to the gorgeous coastline and local attractions. It was relaxing to come back to a peaceful haven of wonderful animals and welcoming hosts. We were greeted by Carolyn and a cream tea, cakes and colouring for the kids. The beds were comfortable, the towels soft, the carpets and flooring downstairs were warm underfoot. The cottage had toilet steps and bath toys for the kids, a bread maker and mix which we all enjoyed so much, a clothes airer which meant we went home with next to no washing! It felt like a really special break and the children age 1 4 and 6 were free to spend time with the animals and loved the responsibility of feeding them each day with both Carolyn and Libby. The tractor ride was such a fun added bonus too. I was hesitant in booking Birchill Farm Cottages because they weren't overly active on social media or present on the many holiday groups I'd usually seek reassurance from. If you're feeling the same then rest assured, don't hesitate to book you will have a wonderful time. Thank you...
