I enquired on Thursday afternoon if it may be possible to cancel my room on Saturday ( as I had been offered an alternative unexpectedly by my employer). No one anwsered my call, I left a message on an ansaphone. No one called me back. I contacted Booking.com to explain my situation. ( I booked the room through them.) I explained to them that if I could not cancel I would take the room. They told me they were the only ones who could cancel the room. ||||However the onwners did cancell my room and resold it. Booking.com found me an alternative and paid for my inconvinience. They refunded the cost of the new hotel room.||||The 2 day free cancellation policy here begins on the dot of midnight two days before and not 48 hors before you arrive.||||The only time the owners ever contacted me was five weeks later when Booking.com were trying to make them pay for the trouble they had caused. Read moreI stayed here for two nights having arrived at Stansted airport (which is only a ten minute drive away). I was genuinely impressed by both the accommodation and the service. The owners could not do enough to help, offering advice about the local area, helping to print my boarding pass and going out of their way to make me comfortable. The B and B was in a very pretty village with pubs close by and all amenities in Bishop's Stortford only two miles away. The only negative for light sleepers is that it is directly under a flight path, but the bed was so comfortable I fell asleep right away. I have written a lot of reviews and do not rave about anywhere unless I am genuinely impressed. This was one of those finds and I will definitely...

The setting is beautiful, the rooms are very nicely done, although ours was quite snug and space was limited. Having said that, the bed was comfy and the newly fitted wet room was great. Angela and Pete are lovely people who are welcoming and accommodating and made us feel at home. They were happy for Poppy to roam the gardens and even introduced her to their little dog, Charlie. The Victorian conservatory, where the continental breakfast was served, was beautifully laid out in a French café style and there was plenty of choice to satisfy most tastes. The proximity to Stanstead Airport made it a little noisy at times, but not so that it spoiled our time there. We would...
