B&B Rafters — Hotel in Vale of White Horse

Was here for a 2-night stay for work. Free parking on drive of property, take care coming out, as restricted view of road. Greeted by Sigrid who was pleasant and provided good local information. Mini fridge and table on landing with snacks (need to pay for them). Also in fridge was fresh milk for tea and coffee in your room. My room was lovely with ensuite and seperate toilet (in room). Toilet was quite small (I am not small). Desk and chair to work at in room, as well as good TV. Internet was good also. The only thing I didn't like was that the pillows on the bed were not firm enough for me (personal preference). Lots of choice for breakfast (which was included in the price of my room) and the hot food was...

This was my second visit as I was so impressed when I stayed here last year. Sigrid is an excellent and very professional host who provided a thoughtful welcome on arrival.||I was given the same room as last year which is spacious, very clean and very thoughtfully and well furnished in every respect.||A very good breakfast again, very good quality food for the cooked breakfast, homemade sourdough and cranberry bread, as well as homemade preserves and good quality coffee.||No wonder Sigrid was awarded 5 stars again in 2024.||If I am working in this area again next year, this is where I will choose to stay.||By far the best bed & breakfast in which I have stayed. ||Well done again Sigrid - kind...

I have had the pleasure of staying at Rafters a number of times on business trips to Oxford and have always been impressed with the place. Sigrid is a delightful lady (also met her husband Arne on one occasion) who cooks a first class breakfast and the rooms are very clean and comfortable (apart from the water bed in one room, it may not even be there now, but I found it horrible and ended up sleeping on the floor).||That did not detract from my overall impression of Rafters, however, so I would have no hesitation at all in recommending them.||I should add these visits were in the mid 2000's, I just never got around to leaving the review until something...
