Little Greenslade — Hotel in West Devon

Stayed here Sep 2022. Looked amazing on the cottage rental website. In reality not quite as clean as you would expect, especially for the high price paid. Father in law was not very mobile and struggled between rooms as most floors were uneven (some reviews did warned this but we took a chance but wished we hadnt). Kitchen was filthy and most items in cupboards were dirty and things like knives not very sharp and saucepans frying pans really old and non stick etc knackered. Mouse droppings, very old, not recent found in kitchen cupboards. We could have arrived after a poor clean up but the state of kitchen felt like this wasn't just a recent amount of dirt. Garden was lovely but lots of dog mess there which made somw unwelcomw suprises (we took 3 dogs but we clean up after them). Location is great for local area but it is a bit hairy exiting the drive as its a national speed limit. Hot tub and sauna at end of garden was fun but the rest of the house and lack of cleanliness sadly let this down. There is a large garage to store stuff in if needed but it hasn't got a garage door so not the most secure....

Lovely place , watch your head. Living room needs to be matched with rest of the house, a bit b&m . Otherwise quirky and different. Log burner should be in Living room too but electric fire was a bit useless to be honest as didn't have a light. Well equipped cottage and cosy. Bit cold off peak going up and down the garden from the hot tub. Garden and hot tub shelter could do with some tlc. Owners very helpful and we are grateful for them getting in touch regarding us leaving...

Great old (600 yrs) qwerky house. Nice and clean with some nice homely touches. Beware of your head multiple levels and low doors you'll hit it more than once. Right next to the road so some noise in the master bed room. Sloping floor in the upstairs floor adds to the character. Kids enjoyed the games room. Hit tub and sauna at the end of the garden. Also note there is a pond so...
