Just back from a family wedding at Prince Hall. This is a dog friendly hotel with a family behind it, and lovely views. Owner Chris and son Luke produced outstanding quality food throughout our three night stay. One guest commented that they had never had such good food outside a Michelin starred location. The hotel is relaxed and slightly rustic which was perfect for us, so those looking for modern or more starchy service are unlikely to enjoy the more family feel. We took over the whole place, had a Tipi installed in the grounds along with matting and other bits. The team could not have been more accommodating and took as much as they could off the families hands to ensure we could sit back and enjoy things. With gales and rain for the wedding day, the team found some mini marquees and worked to install them themselves, they also offered access to a barn for storage to minimise the impact of the rain. Having taken the hotel over we saw all the rooms. As with any hotel they have a variety of options. South facing ones enjoy the view, North facing ones donโ€™t, but are sheltered from any weather. They nearest neighbours are two miles away so a tranquil nights sleep was easy to achieve! Absolute legends, I cannot thank them enough for an amazing stay. If you love Dartmoor and enjoy a relaxed dog friendly environment with excellent food, I highly recommend Prince Hall.

Beautiful, quiet Place in Dartmoor. Very fine taste of interior Design, delicios Teatime. In the Garden Center we found some very special Plants and were friendly herded by the coolest Dog in the Moor ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ’

We hired Princehall for 3 nights for our small wedding ceremony and it was the best decision we ever made. Right from the moment we walked into the property we felt so relaxed, comfortable and were in awe of the place. It has everything you need, come rain or shine. Lots of games to keep people busy, lots of places to hang out and the most comfortable beds ever! We held our ceremony in the garden and the reception in the barn afterwards. There was lots of space for our 40 guests to eat and dance. We hired a bar for the additional room, which worked perfectly. The whole house, barn and grounds are kept to an exceptionally high standard and are tastefully decorated. It was easy to hire the equipment needed to turn the barn into our dream reception venue with the help of our wedding planner, Westcountry Wedding Planner. I canโ€™t put into words how perfect it was for the three nights- we actually wish we booked for longer. And we keep talking about how we will need to come back for our anniversaries! Thank you to Sam- our stay...

Nice hotel but full of dog owners and there dogs |Barking and in the longe and breakfast room|Also a grinding noise all night for 3 of the 4 nights we stayed |On the 4th night it started about 7am |Something to do with the well pump we believe |The shower was useless bath only |Due to the ultra low pressure |Great views and location for the moors |The evening meals and breakfasts were very well cooked and presented |I think it would do better if they sold it as a more upmarket hotel and ditch the dog friendly tag even if it does mean keeping the hotel dogs out of the breakfast room |Which was very annoying for a non dog couple |Not everyone likes dogs !!!!!|Before you say it - yes we should have stayed elsewhere but the two bridges was full and the hotel had two rooms let on our 1st night |Says it all|Finding someone for drinks was also a bit lame and no archers so we bought our own for the room |Nice hotel that could do much better with the right marking to contest...
