We stayed at Bredon View at the beginning of August and honestly were a bit disappointed. All the photos show the lodges with lovely large decking facing woodland surrounded by woodland but in reality there are only a few that actually do.
We paid extra to have a Fallow Lodge which are the most expensive lodges at the park and were very disappointed to find that the hot tub and the decking both face on to the road. The decking is very small with a small table , we were expecting to have family meals outside but this was not possible as the table is not big enough for 4 plates and also we didn't want people constantly walking past and looking at us. Our two teenage daughters felt very uncomfortable going into the hot tub as there were always people walking past. We asked at reception if we could move and we're told that they often get people disappointed about thier lodge location, they were full so couldn't move us but they could give us extra towels to hang up along the glass fences to give us some privacy, nothing turned up after two days so we went back to reception and were directed to the manager who seemed very upset when we asked about the extra towels and said that would cost him an extra £7 per towel! He did eventually agree to the extra towels but they never turned up and we went and bought our own in the end. It definitely started the holiday off on a bad start, I was hoping to get a towel refresh after the first week (we stayed for 2 weeks) but after that chat I didn't bother... The park has lots of rules, no ball games, no food or drink or electric items around the hot tubs (having a glass of something with some gentle music in the background is part of the hot tub experience surely!), quiet time between 10pm and 8am (fair enough) and they ask you upon checkout to have a tidy up for them! This isn't a cheap caravan - it's a luxury lodge! We paid a lot of money for this holiday and don't expect to have to clean it for the cleaners, especially when we kept finding really long black hairs all over the lodge (none of ours) and dirty plates on arrival.
The park says it's luxury and offers a tranquil environment, unfortunately the grounds staff think it's ok to come and cut the grass around your lodge on their very loud ride on mowers even if you are in the hot tub or eating outside. Back and forth back and forth with no regard for the noise or the dust, bits of grass and noise they make, plus the fact my daughters felt very uncomfortable with the guy looking at them and smiling. During our stay there was also lots of building work taking place, including diggers coming in and out and working opposite our lodge. Trying to sunbathe or go in the hot tub listening to building noise or builders talking is not a luxury vibe. Unfortunately there are lots of empty plots so I'm sure the building work will carry on and on.
In summary the interior of the lodges are very nice. The hot tub only has space for 3 really, despite it being a 4 person lodge, the outside of the lodges is not luxury with lots of building work taking place and the decking and hot tubs are very overlooked with...
Read moreWe got such a fantastic deal through Hoseasons and stayed Mon-Fri during the Easter break.
We booked two lodges (Jays Party and Hawk View - Or something like that!). Both were very well equipped, well designed, the interior was beautiful and they were immaculate! We were given a handbook with all the expectations of the park and check in was very quick and efficient.
Quiet hours are 8am-10pm. After our first night however, we were awoke at 6:55am by drilling and banging. At first we thought we’d dreamt it, but then it continued. At 7:15 we went to ask if they could stop. They were installing a new unit next to ours in Jays Party. They continued to make noise albeit a little quieter so I emailed the office. They addressed it quite promptly. This installation continued throughout the day making it pointless to use the hot tub as I could not sit and relax with a load of workmen working (and making a lot of noise) next to me which was a real shame. Everyday the noise continued to start at 8am from then on. Throughout our stay more lodges were brought in and continued to be installed. There was a lot of work going on in Jays Party which ruined the relaxing and peacefully atmosphere we were hoping for.
Our WiFi connection was great at first, but then we lost it within the first 12 hours. I wouldn’t be bothered usually but our daughter needed it to revise for A Levels. We were unable to find anything to fix it, so I emailed guest services. Later that day someone came to fix it as they are installed outside the lodge?! We lost it again the next day. We didn’t bother after that!
At this point we felt a little disappointed. We felt like we were staying on a building site when in our lodge. We weren’t getting the seamless, relaxing experience we had paid for. We had paid for something that was becoming sub standard and unusable. We were lucky we had a second lodge elsewhere in the park as we ended up spending most of our time there. Also, though our issues were rectified, there were no gestures offered to alleviate this feeling.
The park states that it is dog friendly. We received a nice welcome pack for our dog, however they must remain off all furniture and beds, they must be on leads at all times (due to other wildlife) however there is a dog field you can take them to. It was just a tad stricter than other dog friendly places we have been to, but for good reason.
The park are also quite strict about what you can do outside your lodge as my son one day was passing his football between himself and his father and was asked to stop and do it on the dog field. I would say this park was not a place for families / children.
The bar was lovely and the service here was good and it was very peaceful and quiet (away from the work!) but I would not return until the park was finished. There were a lot of empty plots so I believe work will be continuing for the foreseeable future. Once it is complete, I imagine it will be an absolutely beautiful and tranquil...
Read moreWe stayed for a 3 night break over late May bank holiday at 10 Jays Party Lodge, this is classed as Fallow on Hoseasons.|Check in was easy and friendly. We arrived before the gates are shut, so no problems accessing, but had been given details prior to arriving had we been late (after 6.30pm). Upon check in we were given a good info folder with lodge and local area information. |Allocated parking alongside the lodge. It was spotlessly clean, but we discovered later we were the first people to stay in it !!. Excellently equipped with everything you need for a self catering stay. Bedrooms were of a good size. The master room is huge with lots of storage, dressing table and en suite shower room / toilet. 2nd room has 2 single beds, not sure if these can be zip locked together or not. There is also a Family bathroom and toilet.|Lounge area was spacious and comfortable. Good size smart TV. However, there wasn't any dedicated wi-fi and we were given a temporary password which was shared with next door, which did cause issues and was difficult to use any catch up services. We hope / presume this is because it was a brand new lodge and not fully completed and this will be / has been rectified.|Small Decking to the front with table and chairs (accessed from lounge, not wrap around). Side deck has a sunken hot tub which was lovely and really good jets. It did tend to lose temperature fairly quickly while we were in it and the temperature control is locked so couldn't be adjusted, could have done with it set a little higher (39 is ideal for us) |We did have a couple of drinks at the Retreat clubhouse (on the outside patio) which were good and guests get 10% off. We didn't eat there or play golf so can't comment on that.|There aren't any other facilities on site, which is fine for us and makes the park very quiet.|Lovely, well kept park with great staff.|We are looking forward to our 2nd stay...
