We planned an extended stay at this KOA while my husband worked in the area. What a colossal mistake. When we arrived, a kind, professional couple was managing the property — they vanished soon after, and now we know exactly why.||||The current manager is the most hostile, petty, and unprofessional person we’ve ever encountered at any RV park. She is completely unfit to manage anything, let alone a campground where people are paying good money for basic services. And what set all of this off? We simply had the nerve to ask about a surprise $100 rate increase. That’s all it took. From that moment on, she made it her mission to harass and nickel-and-dime us at every turn. When we calmly asked about the increase, she didn’t just get defensive — she lost it, screaming at my husband and telling us if we didn’t like it, we could leave. Then came the threats of more charges, like inventing extra fees for our children, despite the fact that we own our RV, pay site rent, and cover our own electricity.||||And as if that wasn’t enough, she crossed the line completely by having my husband’s work truck towed — knowing full well it belonged to us. She even called our neighbor before towing it, and he told her it was ours. Did she bother to call us? Of course not. She had it towed anyway, just to be vindictive.||||The conditions of this dump matched her attitude:|| • The pool? “Under repair” for our entire month-and-a-half stay — translation: they don’t care.|| • The laundry room? A mess, with broken machines that never got fixed.|| • The grounds? Overflowing trash bins and grass so overgrown it was a snake hazard — because apparently basic maintenance is too much to ask.|| • The mosquitoes? So bad we couldn’t step outside without being eaten alive. When we politely asked if they ever sprayed, we got nothing but more attitude.|| • The office? Rarely open despite the posted hours, and calling the number got you ignored or met with more attitude.|| • A massive tree fell and damaged another guest’s RV — KOA took no responsibility, showing exactly how little they care about safety.||||There were empty sites all over the park — and now we know why. Anyone with sense stays far away once they see the reality behind KOA’s promises.||||Bottom line: This park is a disgrace. Unsafe, filthy, overpriced, and run by someone who takes pleasure in making guests miserable. If you value your sanity, safety, or money — stay...
Read moreI have stayed here in a few RV parks in Abilene, TX along I-20. This place is the more exspensive places to stay at, but has the best service and amenities. Like trash pick up, propane refill, the office sells ice, and a few other convinces like spices for cooking, sodas, candy and RV parts. The staff goes out of there way to let to help you or give you what you need. RV spots have a ground mounted charcoal grill, and trees! They also have, grass, pool, a dog park and trees to prevent this west Texas wind from ripping your awning off .The wind can be so fierce that you can't even put down your owning in the other parks. Number one reason I decided to come to this camp ground was because of the internet acully works( they provide free wifi wich works 90 pecent of the time and you can pretty much pick it up anywhere),and it is because they have a real cable provider. The other RV parks have satellite Internet(which is super slow) and with everyone trying to use it....it just doesn't work...ever! Here if you decide to stay for a extended amount of time like me due to oil field work, I was able to hook up my own internet service from Sudden link and i have the fastest internet they offer (My own personal wifi)...they just send the bill here, and no need to be here for a guy to come hook it up as the park provides free basic cable so it is already hooked up. All you have to do is call it in (I have my own router and modem, if you don't have your ow you might have to go get the rental equipment from sudden link). Anyway I am very happy to be staying here. By far the best place in Abilene! Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that the place is a little old and most spots to park your camper don't have concrete. The other comments about bad people owning this place...that was the old owners as of 11-18-15 when this review was written these owners rock!...
Read moreStaff is super friendly and knowledgeable! The managers Art and Susan will help you with anything....I mean anything! My very first day my husband was away at work and I had brought the RV in by myself, Art helped me back our 35 foot trailer in, within a couple minutes! And our electricity cable wasn't long enough so he let us barrow an extension for a few weeks. Also that night there was a huge storm and he knocked on my door at 9pm and notified me that he had put a pallet down under our stairs so that I wouldn't float away on my way to work the next morning! Art knows something about everything and isn't afraid of work, let alone pausing what he is doing to help you out! My husband and I lived at the KOA for a few months before his job took us to Amarillo. During this time Art helped us set up our cable, helped us with a badly clogged toilet we had been working at for 2 weeks....it took him 15 minutes, he helped us with a sewage leak we discovered and frequently came over to check on us and help while my husband who is hates feces and urine cut away our underbelly of the RV. Art also helped us find the problem and fix it. Him and Susan are super friendly and super helpful, they even helped us find a new RV resort when we left! I always felt safe here as they do rounds around the park after dark-sometimes until midnight which was awesome with my husband away a lot, the wifi works, pool is pristine, playground is great for kiddos, the dog park is awesome and they and their staff are always around and keep the place VERY CLEAN!! Also I guarantee you won't find cleaner facilities!! Trust me as I've been to the other "premier" park in Abilene and there is no comparison! ;) I highly recommend...
