A+++++ The Minuteman Hotel has a great location right off the highway, the rooms and appliances are newer and innovative such as the smart TV, along with other appliances in the bathroom and little kitchenette area. They have an electric charger if you're driving in with an electric vehicle. They also have several solar panel units that slightly adjust themselves for Optimum sunshine which I think is pretty environmental friendly using clean energy. The staff here are super friendly and very accommodating. There internet Wi-Fi strength is pretty consistent and stable throughout the property. Always plenty of towels, and multiple places to get rid of your trash. Their bathroom toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc.) are on the higher end, not the cheap stuff. They were very thorough with cleaning the common areas.
I don't believe there's anything that I disliked. Oh, the one thing that didn't work was the vending machine for drinks in the front by the office, but I think I saw the repair guy working on the vending machines as I was checking out so it will most likely be working when you check in. Read moreI write this review with nothing but respect and a true understanding of how grueling the lodging industry is. I worked in it for years. This appears to be a family- run property and they are nothing but incredibly pleasant and kind by phone and in person. I offer 3 stars in that respect. That said, there are some really serious issues going on here and I cannot recommend the property for that reason nor will I stay again. On my last stay here, 8 or 9 months ago, I was under the impression things were under renovation. On this stay a week ago, I came to realize its more like a constant state of undone. Was quite upset by the state of my room: it reeked of cigarette smoke- not one guest, but an accumulated batch. No way it could be unnoticed. The deadbolt to my room was totally busted. For a roadside motel, this is a major issue and unacceptable. Overall, the room was, in a word, filthy- the floor hadn’t been mopped in at least a week, visible soap scum lined my shower, and there were enough crumbs to identify exactly what the last guest had eaten. Deep dust/grime coated the AC/the curtains/many surfaces. I get that staffing is a challenge, but with one devoted staff member this stuff can be handled, and it has to be. Read moreRooms were ok for the price. They’re the cheapest place in the area, and in a fairly accessible location for where we needed to be, so there’s that. Rooms are large and beds were fairly comfortable after being stuck in the car all day, but the tv didn’t work right, the few pieces of furniture were dirty, and there was mold above the shower. There were weed roaches and garbage laying all over the parking lot and in front of rooms, along with bicycles strewn everywhere. They don’t provide any basic amenities such as fridge, microwave or coffee maker and there are no security locks on the doors. What got me the most though, was that staff completely invaded our privacy by walking in on us and rushing us out before check out time, and then threw my son’s personal pillow and baby blanket away that we left, even though we had been gone less than an hour when we realized. When I called to let them know I was on my way back to get it, they told me we should have checked and that I could rummage through the trash to find it myself, but that they wouldn’t have housekeeping get it or give it back to us. They have no regard for customer privacy or personal belongings. My husband checked us in and said the staff was friendly, but they also kept his DL that we had to go back and retrieve.
