We pulled in about 9:30 pm (after dark). Our check-in packet was waiting right where they said it would be. The map included a list of available sites and we set up in the first one we came to-Site #41. Our site was significantly lower in the front, but Anderson buckets and leveling system worked fine. We did need leveling blocks on one side too. The entrance road and main roads throughout the park are paved. The camping loops and sites are made of good quality gravel. This park is one of the best maintained Thousand Trails parks we've ever stayed in. There are plenty of sites large enough for big rigs (based on availability). We are 36'+bike rack and crew cab pickup and had plenty of room for everything. The buildings were clean and well maintained. We used the men's bathroom and laundry ($1.75/wash and $1.75/dry-4 of each). The laundry room was open late (no posted hours, but we did laundry as late as 9:30 pm). It included a 6' table for folding and a 10' metal rod for hanging. There is a large pond near the swimming pool and activity center. On the weekend, there was live music for everyone to enjoy. The park is about 10 miles outside Wilmington (Walmart Supercenter) in a rural setting with lots of corn fields nearby. This provided for a quiet, peaceful setting. We were there for Labor Day weekend and almost all the sites were occupied. Of course this indicates the electricity works at all of the sites, which is definitely not the case at many TT parks. This park is a good example of how ALL TT parks should be maintained and run. It is what we expected when purchasing our membership. I will say that it appears there is a high percentage of the sites leased, which is not the business model we were sold when we purchased our membership. I think leased sites should be limited to no more than 10-15% of the functioning sites in the park and also of the type of sites (10% of 30 amp, 10% of 50 amp, 10% of sewer sites), to be fair to those who use their membership transiently. We will definitely be back when we return...
Read moreWe have stayed here 4 other times. This will be an unfair review due to the fact the campground just opened and not everything was ready, so here we go;||The negatives: As I said the park just opened so grass was not cut, Laundry was not open at first upon arrival and trash containers quickly became full from seasonals cleaning out their sites.. YES this is to be expected when a park just opens but it happened so it is noted here. The only way I see to correct this is for the park to open for staff a week or two early to prepare for guests.||Positives: As I said laundry was not opened at first but in 2 days the staff had cleaned and opened the laundry and restroom/showers areas. Grass was being cut throughout the park and dumpsters were emptied. The sites themselves were fairly level, water and electric were ready for use and for the most part, the park was inviting. The Staff: everyone here was so very helpful in any way and every way within their power: WELL DONE STAFF !||As I said we stayed here 4 other times, this was the first time we were this early and you will find later in the season this is a wonderful place to stay.||||Now for Thousand Trails corporate: Your parks are now assigning sites I am told by your orders. Being a member I disagree with this practice and found that in the past finding my own site made for a more enjoyable stay (picking from shaded or full sunshine sites : near or not near roadways). Please I ask you to return to guest picking their own sites to fulfill the guests own...
Read moreWe rented one of their cabins for 2 nights. The staff was very friendly. The cabin was so cute and fully furnished with everything you would need except cleaning supplies and of course bed linens. It had everything from a full fridge to a toaster. There are fishing ponds, mini golf, laundry facilities, a small game room, trails (which could be better trimmed), a pool, hot tub, baby pool, playground and lots of planned activities. They even offer an rv wash for those that own one. There were a few downsides. Firstly, when we arrived we had to clean the slightly used & dirty bathroom also the cabin smelled like BO and had a few ants. After we cleaned the bathroom it was fine. Secondly, the mattresses GREATLY need replaced. They were so thin and worn out that sleeping on them had you feeling the bars underneath and waking up sore (which is the only reason we left and didn't stay through the weekend). Thirdly, the hot tub and the baby pool were both out of order the whole time we were there. Lasty, the office & store hours are inconvenient. They are only open about 4 hours a day. All in all it is the best campground in the area. Others we stayed at had pay showers so having our own bathroom in the cabin is a definate plus. We are already planning a return trip but will bring a mattress pad or...
