This place is first rate in every way! I have a 45 foot 5th wheel and single night stays are always "fun" (lots of work). Travelers Campground is the best place I've found for having everything and they really have their system together! They have a section that is just for single night stays which makes it so that every single person is basically pulling straight on through without any issues. When you have a large rig there is nothing better than this place to stay due to the coordination that they're extremely attentive staff has put together. There is no doubt that they know what it is like to be a camper/RV'er and have done everything they can to make this stay the best you have ever had. The night that we stayed they even had a big bonfire and had free hot dogs and smores around a campfire. It was a friendly group and made us feel VERY welcome. They even operate an animal rescue and have plenty of fun things to do if you have children. There is absolutely no doubt that we will be heading to this campground every time we are in the area as we are RV full timers living on our rig. The only bad things thing I can say is that we are sorry we had plans up North and could not stay longer at this campground. Sites are asphalt paved. Water has great pressure. Electric is properly setup. Grounds look great and are kept clean. I always seen a worker doing something keeping the grounds correct. Laundry facilities look great. They have a store at the check in that is not just snacks and sugar but all items a RV'er would need... fuses, hoses, lightbulbs, etc... By now you might think I work here just because I reviewed them in detail but.im just a attention to retail person. (See my other reviews.

My brother and his family camped in their 29 ft travel trailer. Campsites are linear...you pull in your rig one behind another. Bmy brother had difficulty pulling out, so imagine how a larger rig would do. My husband and I stayed in a tent. This place is not set up for tents. No designated sites for tents, only a large grassy area that was on a slight slope. Tent sites have access to a few electric outlets. The bathhouse is old and didn't appear to be cleaned the entire time we stayed. No soap in the dispenser. Showers had hot water but i kept my flip flops on as they weren't very clean. My biggest gripe is having to walk uphill from the bathrooms to the tent campsite. There are rescue animals that the kids had fun feeding. Thank goodness we didn't smell the animals while we camped. The back of the park seems to be full time residents. That area is run down and trashy. The campground is next to I-75 so traffic is loud all the time, but may not bother you unless you are in a tent.

An unusual campground/RV park right off I-75 in Alachua, FL. We ended up here due to severe weather with no reservation. The campground staff was so nice, friendly and helpful. Our one-night site is perfectly level, has a shade tree and picnic table. The property is expansive and lush green (May 2017). The upper area is for longer-term rigs and the "down bottom" is for short-term/overnight. A little camp store with some basic necessities is onsite. A nice pool. Bath houses are spotless. Some really fun critters around the property (housed in wonderful living spaces). Parrots, peacocks, goats, horse and donkey, cows/cattle and an emu (I believe) makes for a fun walk around. Extremely well kept. There is freeway noise. This will be a regular stop for us when we make our north/south treks through North Central Florida.

Won’t stay again! My grandmother had to be put in Shands Hospital and this is one of two camp sites that we found and chose this one. After staying in a hotel for 3 nights and knowing we may be in Gainesville for a while we decided to go home and get the 5th wheels in which was 1 1/2 hours away. We told them we were not sure how long we would need the camp site for and they told us we could pay for a week and go from there. We stayed one week and we were told at the hospital that they would release her any day to go home to live out her last days so we asked if we could pay by the night. Well we paid the extra night and went back to pay the next day for one more night and the young girl up front told us it would be impossible for one of the places that we had because they rented that spot out for a month to someone else. So we had to move one camper and take it on home and stay in the other camper that we had still hooked up. To our surprise no one ever came and pulled into the spot that we were originally in. It stayed empty. We had even asked the girl “can’t you just move the person you have coming in to stay a month into another spot?” and they said no they couldn’t do that and it would mess everything up if they did. I’m not happy about that and I’m also not happy that when we went to pay day by day the older woman told me one price of $60 and told my dad $57.60 and then when I called back to see if I maybe didn’t get my GoodSam discount she told me I was lucky I got it for $60 because the rate was $75 a night. Why is this place so expensive? It’s too close to each camper, It’s donkeys are loud in the mornings and wakes you up, the interstate is really loud because it’s right beside it, and it’s in the middle of no where!! I pay $99 a night for Disney’s Fort Wilderness camp sites and they have all kinds of stuff and activities. I’m unsure why this place is so high in this area and I don’t know why they couldn’t accommodate us after telling us they could. Sounds like the right hand don’t know what the left hand is doing and nothing is...

Let me say first and foremost what a wonderful staff this campground has. Barb, Erick, Ike, & Ronnie, to name a few, are fantastic! Jan, the new office manager, is doing her best to adapt to her position under new management, and as we have gotten to know each other, she is a very nice lady who wants to help the customer. There have been some bumps in the road during the transition from the former owner to the new owner, and that's the reason we are not rating the campground with more stars. Primarily, we aren't happy with the increase in rates. For years, the price was $37/night, with Good Sam, which is perfectly in line with other campgrounds in the area if you shop around. The old owner went up to $39.50/night with Good Sam during the last year, which was no big deal. However, the new owner has gone up to $49.45+tax, with Good Sam discount applied...without completing any changes to the park yet. That's a 33.65% price increase over the last 12 months. If the improvements were already finished, maybe we could understand such a significant increase, but they are not. For this reason, we have decided to make other plans, which is sad. We will miss the sweet people who work at Travelers and wish...
