I've been on quite a few excursions over the years. This one was THE BEST experience I've had so far! That's what Fred provides...an experience. He put os on a ton of fish first thing in the morning and we were able to be very picky with what we kept. Fred shared his experience and knowledge with us as if we were one of his family members (that he likes...). After the first fishing hole from the bank, he took us wade fishing where I got to catch my first Rainbow Trout and it was delicious (pics included)! Fred took us back to a day-camp he set up before we arrived. He made a fire and grilled up freshly caught Salmon. He also provided huge roast beef sandwiches and veggies. It was all good but that Salmon! It was the best I've had to this day. It was perfect! Once we were full...the adventures continued. My lovely wife was curious about panning for gold so he grabbed his gear and took us to a spot where the river just subsided from a storm. Then showed us how panning works. Fred explained the process in detail as well as the "why" it has to be done that way. Well...we struck gold (pics included)! Just enough to make us smile. He let us keep it in a vile he provided After that little gold rush (it really was a rush!), we headed back to another fishing spot and fished until we were exhausted. Fred will not stop until you say you're done! Fred is an amazing and interesting person who takes good care of his people. He's so much more than just a guide. We highly recommend this "experience" to anyone who can fit it in. That was our favorite day on our 2 week Alaskan vacation....

Fred did an amazing job with our family group of 17 and truly exceeded all expectations. Early in the morning we met Fred and got geared up with waders he had ready for us and we made a small hike to a beautiful creek to do some wade fishing. His helpers Denali and Kianna were already there with the rods waiting on us. Fred, Denali, and Kianna were excellent with the kids and Fred taught everyone how to fly fish. We caught dozens of pink and chum salmon (some on flies and some in spinners). We kept a few Pinks for eating and turned the rest back. We then moved to a second spot on the creek and to our surprise he had tents set up and a beautiful lunch prepared by his cooks John and Chase. The prime rib and reindeer sausage was perfect. After lunch and a few drinks we fished from the bank for rainbow trout throwing flies and spinners. We caught 3 or 4 large rainbows and also several huge king salmon. But Fred wasn’t done yet. He taught us how to pan for gold in the same creek. The kids absolutely had a blast and we actually found multiple small nuggets of real gold! Fred still had more tricks up his sleeve. He set up a karaoke machine set up and we sang songs to celebrate Grammy and Pops’s 50th wedding anniversary into the evening. It was such an amazing day. Thank you so...

Fishing + gold panning 10/10 would do again My family did a half day of fishing and half day of gold panning and it was the highlight of our trip to Alaska. We probably spent 6-7 hours fishing and only an hour or so panning for gold. Both were incredible experiences.

Fred is truly superior in his knowledge of all things outdoors. We caught dozens of salmon primarily as a result of Fred putting us in the best spot along the river. There were lots of other people fishing but Fred seemed to know what no one else did!

We were a bit tired when it came around to gold panning. Nevertheless we continued on with our gold panning equipment in hand. We only had enough energy to do one round of panning but once again Fred knew the right spot and we actually found several grams of gold!!

All in all it was a fantastic day. 10/10 would do again and recommend to...
