We stayed at House of Jade our first and last nights of our Alaska trip as a family of 3 with a 7 year old son. It was very convenient to the airport and the Botanical Gardens which we wandered around before checking on our first night. Located in a residential area, rooms were very large and beds very comfortable. The first night, we were upgraded to the absolutely enormous Master Suite and the second night we stayed in the large Redoubt Suite (though the bathroom size was small). Both had a ton of space to spread out. We had some very slight hiccups our last night with no extra toilet paper to be found and the roll nearly gone. We saw Krista only at breakfast the first morning so I felt that the hospitality was a bit lacking, though she was friendly when we did see her. I'm not sure who the breakfast hosts were our second night stay as they didn't introduce themselves but they did offer to make our son some eggs as he didn't want the quiche that was being served. I appreciated the always available snacks and drinks in the common space. I felt terribly guilty that our son had been up since 4am local time as we came from the East Coast and his body hadn't yet adjusted to the time difference. While he spent some time before breakfast began reading, he was definitely bouncing off the walls by 7am despite our best attempts to keep him quiet--the inn was a quiet spot so I hope we didn't impact anyone else's stay.||Excellent value in a very...
Read moreKrista, Kathryn and Rachel are wonderful Inn keepers. We stayed 8 nights in early May in the Denali room. The bed & breakfast is conveniently located to downtown, but in a secluded quiet residential neighborhood. The area is safe, park out front of the inn, no noisy street traffic. The breakfast each morning is superbly presented. Krista is attentive to individual needs according to diet restrictions ,etc. The snacks, drinks and treats each day are an added benefit. The inn is well appointed with lovely decor fit for an Alaskan experience. You can make yourself right at home by using everything from the kitchen, fridge, freezer, washing machine and Krista even provided us with bear spray and ice cleats. Krista can help you with discounts on tours in the area. Krista gave us recommendations to all kinds of restaurants and places to see. I have stayed at many B&B's from coast to coast... The Alaska House of Jade is at the top! I wouldn't stay anywhere else in the Anchorage area! It was hard to say goodbye after spending 8 days with them. I feel like we have an extended family now in AK, 100% Worth...
Read moreKrista did the corresponding with the customers , while Zach did our breakfast. First time staying in Anchorage. Normally we fly into Anchorage and then forward a small Ryvn plane To Homer for our fishing trip to King of Kings lodge in Anchor Point. This was a top notch facilities. Comfortable in every way. Krista’s follow thru on questions was exemplary. Friendly. Zach was also great and a hidden star in this wonderful place To stay. I’ve been to numerous bed and breakfasts and it would be hard to beat the hospitality and food we received here. I’m Staying again this year coming up also mainly just to see them again and add another day to our fishing vacation. By the way, there is no problem storing your fish at the airport for a small charge . Then picking up your fish at the airport and bringing the boxes of fish back To your home as luggage. Raven aviation is now open again after they were bought from bankruptcy. Flights are now resuming and I’m waiting to see what their schedules are for the coming summer. Looking forward to seeing Krista and...
