I would have given it an extra star, but for the high price (seems to be a king salmon thing).||I stayed in Sockeye Cabins (I think #10), and it was sooo much nicer than the photos (they really need new photos because it's lovely). It's a relatively new refurb, and the cabin was new and modern inside. There's even a wardrobe to hang things. Once I realised the gas heater was controlled by the wall thermostat, it was also warm.||Do be aware (before you arrive) that there is nothing around here open early morning (pre 8am) for coffee or breakfast. The cabin had paper cups, a fridge, and a microwave, but bring your own bowl or plate if you want to make cereal or something. There was a Mr Coffee and some coffee to put in it, but no filter paper, which google told me was required to be able to use that. ||Also, be aware the area is absolutely swarming with mosquitos (July). Spray some strong deet before you open the door to stop them getting in the room. I dashed in while waving my arms, but 3 still zipped in with me. The local supermarket and the shop at bears falls lodge sell face nets, and they're not a bad idea if you're going to be spending time outside. ||I was roaming in Alaska on AT&T, but had zero signal at any time out in King Salmon. The wifi at the cabins and Sockeye saloon was...
Read moreWe went to King Salmon AK on our way to brooks falls in July 2025 and stayed 2 nights at the Sockeye cabins (part of Antlers Inn). This place is literally perfect. A VERY short walk from the airport, bank with ATM, grocery store and only restaurant, and minutes from float plae pick up! The location of this place is exactly right. The cabin itself is also exactly right. and ultra clean. Mini stove, refrigerator, microwave in the kitchen which is super helpful if you want to make a quick breakfast early arm prior to heading out to falls. Shower in bathroom with fluffy towels and all shampoo/bodywash ammenities. Comfortable beds and the perfect stopping location prior to heading to Brooks Falls. With so many weather variables playing a role in the multistep travel to Brooks Falls, stopping overnight here takes one more step out of the equation. Pictures do not do justice to how cute and well done these cabins are. Super friendly and accomodating staff. They allowed us into our room far before checkin which was really appreciated. 5 stars for Sockeye Cabins in this...
Read moreMy brother and I stayed in #3 for three nights while visiting Kamai NP, and prior to flying out to Becharof Rapids Camp. We'd originally scheduled the trip for 2020, so the booking spanned 18 months! Flora, Rachel and the staff were professional, helpful and friendly throughout. They know everything about King Salmon and the business that support tourism and sport fishing, and are very responsive to guests' requests. They have worked hard to improve the property and guest rooms; our suite had a living area with kitchenette and bunk bed, and a separate bedroom. I look for cleanliness, a comfortable bed and a good shower and Antlers delivered! The airport, grocery and a few restaurants are within walking distance. Despite a remote location, and current labor and supply shortages they do a great job delivering quality customer service. Tips: King Salmon is in a remote place and all services are limited. Antlers has wifi but is not a 5 star hotel. There is Verizon network coverage. Most travel is done via float plane or water taxi, and there are limited...
