My experience was awesome! I stayed for several days and I plan on as many return trips as I can make. I think this will be my go to place to hang in Alaska for the Northern Lights and other activities. I visited the A.I.R. before the restaurant was completed and open for business, so I am looking forward to vacationing in the full-service version of the resort. I hope to return in early 2025. Here's hoping for an availability! Cheers! If I could make a separate review defending the “existence” of the resort, I would – but, I’ll just try to write a succinct response to these two guys who can’t seem to understand how new small businesses work. First: good people can share concerns about the general welfare, but they shouldn’t be trying to destroy the reputation of a new business owner by giving a poor review to a service they never received. That is unethical, probably immoral. A concerned warning comment could be appropriate, however, a rating brings down the overall quality of the resort and is highly inappropriate! Second, I don't know why the guys who gave poor reviews are having difficulty making contact with the resort. Maybe they dialed the wrong number or used the wrong email address; the web master should make it a link to make it easier for the novices who will complain? Third, Highly ridiculous that the Matthias guy thinks the resort is "fake" because google hasn't updated its maps for this specific project? What makes him think that they would do that on his timeline? I’m sure they’ll get it done on some update interval! By the way, addresses are allocated by the USPS, not Google maps, totally independent. And yet he decides to give it a bad review on a feeling! He must be a doubting "mean girl" bully troll, or something. His spelling, syntax and grammar are so atrocious that I can’t comprehend why he is trying to say the website is “fake” and I don’t know what “Whois” has to do with a legitimate business in Alaska? His last comment regarding random things makes no sense – just like the entire ridiculous review that he posted. If he is not just a bully troll, he should reconsider his review and delete it! Check out internet influencer Paige Tingey's review here. She was at the resort recently. She gave it a 5/5. And check out her Instagram post - she made a short video showing a beautiful green aurora drifting across the sky from inside the igloo she was staying in (better than the aurora that I saw). Unfortunately, the northern lights are not a guaranteed visual! I'd upload a couple pics, but I'm too old for that, so no! But there are a couple of new pics in the website pictures for the doubters that show the igloos (including the new ones) with the restaurant and the reception center. Enjoy! Many things to do while you are there. Chena Hot Springs, Dog Sledding, museums, etc. The best Italian restaurant is in Fairbanks. I'll let you...
Read moreSome people who haven’t been here have said the resort doesn’t exist or that the reviews aren’t genuine. All we can say is that we’ve been there ourselves, and it’s very real. If you’re unsure, it might help to contact the resort directly with any questions. We wanted to share our honest experience to help others decide if it’s the right place for them.
WE HAVE BEEN THERE! This place is truly incredible, and we absolutely loved every moment of our stay. It’s rare to find places like this in Fairbanks. The igloo's interior design is a delightful mix of cozy and modern, with thoughtful details that made our experience feel special. Watching the Northern Lights through the glass roof was like living in a dream—an unforgettable experience. The surrounding landscape of snow-covered mountains, frozen lakes, and wide-open spaces created a true winter wonderland.
We rented a car to get to the igloos, which made exploring the area convenient. The staff were welcoming and helpful, giving us clear directions when we arrived. During our visit, we noticed they’re building a large new structure that the workers said will be a restaurant, which adds excitement for future guests.
The service was excellent, and the manager responded promptly to our questions. This is the perfect place to connect with nature, relax, and experience the Arctic at its best. If you’re looking for a mix of adventure and...
Read moreI came to visit Alaska all the way from Georgia and had the most magical stay at the Arctic Igloo Resort, and it’s easily the best place I’ve ever stayed in my 30 years of traveling! The experience of seeing the northern lights multiple nights in a row from the warmth and comfort of my bed through the glass igloo windows was absolutely unforgettable. Waking up under the dancing auroras was a dream come true.l for me as it has been something I’ve wanted to see for years. Truly a bucket list experience and I can’t recommend it enough.
The staff and the owner were incredibly kind and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. The restaurant served the most delicious hot pot, which was such a comforting and hearty meal after a day of exploring.
The room and bathroom were impeccably designed, combining luxury with the charm of Alaska’s rugged beauty. It felt like staying in a five-star retreat nestled in the wilderness. The New Year’s fireworks display was breathtaking, creating the perfect way to ring in the year.
This resort is truly a gem. I can’t wait to come back and experience the magic all over again. If you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime Alaskan getaway, Arctic Igloo Resort is the...
