Baranof Wilderness Lodge — Hotel in Alaska

By far, one of the most beautiful places I have visited. The room was great, as it was, overlooking the water. Accommodations are very clean. I have stayed in 5 star resorts and by far this is a 6 star. I will call this resort a luxury resort in the wilderness with all the wilderness charm. ||We watched eagles catching fish and having their meal. Bed was extremely comfortable but I have to say, being in a place this peaceful will help anyone sleep. Mike and Sally win my awards as best host and hostess of the year. We were celebrating my birthday and when they brought out my special birthday hat, I was so surprised. After being stranded by our cruise line - we needed lodging and needed it fast! Unfortunately for us it was a big fishing weekend in Sitka. After a couple of hours and numerous calls to hotels that were fully booked - I reached Mike, the GM of the Baranof. Extremely helpful and kind. We needed two nights stay - Mike was able to guarantee the first night and began reaching out to other hotel owners to help secure a 2nd night for us. Mike came through in the end and was able to provide us a with a second night at their new property, which is under renovations. To us - Mike was a hero! A friend of mine and I were at Baranof Wilderness Lodge from May 30 thru June 5, 2022. Mike Trotter and his team have every detail of customer service completely covered! The accommodations were fabulous, and the food, it's so delicious it's beyond compare. Our guides, Grady, Doug, Ellen, and Mike Trotter himself were out of this world!
