I just want to preface by saying this is a nice little spot with an absolutely gorgeous view. However, the rate per night for the rooms does correlate to what you receive. I paid $591 for two nights.

The rooms are nice, but they don't quite live up to what you are paying/expecting. They are meant to be themed rooms, but it seems that most of the rooms all have very similar if not the same decor. After opening tbe fridge there was a very pungent rotten egg smell that came from it, and stuck to the room for several hours thereafter. This was a problem that would occur every time it was opened. There also seems that there is an issue with the hot water and pressure here. We attempted to give our 16 month old a bath after playing in the lake to warm him up, it took over 15 minutes to be filled enough for him to bathe in, and at that point was ice cold and he couldn't safely spend more than a few minutes inside it. My wife then wanted to take bath in the jacuzzi tub that they advertise as a selling point, it took 34 minutes to fill just above the jacuzzi jets and it was essentially an ice bath. The jets blew lots of dirt and junk into the water and were so loud that we shut them off as I'm sure every neighbor could hear them due to the extremely thin walls that are here. The tub then began draining itself so she couldn't have taken a bath even if she dealt with the ice water.

The provided life jackets are covered in mildew, something we unfortunately didn't notice until we were already back from the trip we had taken onto the lake. The row boat we used is in need of repairs, as the seats are splintering, cracked essentially in half and have nails protruding from them. I understand that this is a service that doesn't have to be provided, but it's one that's listed and advertised so the equipment should be taken care of and monitored.

When we tried to bring these issues up to the staff at the front desk, we were quickly dismissed. I simply inquired if there was a hot water issue the night before or if anyone else had made a comment about it. I stated that the amenities, including the jacuzzi tub, were one of the main reasons I chose this stay to surprise my wife with. I explained that our son was shivering in the tub because of the hot water problem, and that it took an absurd amount of time for my wife's bath to fill for it to then be ice cold. Her only response was that everyone must have been taking a shower/bath at the same time, it was 9 pm so I don't think I believe that, but maybe so. But then at around 10 when my wife tried, I don't think all other rooms were bathing at the same time. And, if they were, they should be able to provide to all the rooms simultaneously. As to how long it took to fill, we were just told that it's a lot of water a few times. I understand that, but there should not be so little pressure that it takes half an hour to fill for it to be that cold. She then asked if we were checked out, which was not relevant to what we were speaking about, and then asked were we were from. After I answered stating we had already loaded our car up, she wouldn't continue our conversation and more or less pushed us out (not physically of course, just by means of forcefully ending conversation) by by saying sorry about that, have a nice drive.

Maybe these are all small or minor issues, but I feel that hot water and the ability to use the listed amenities should be something you can expect. Especially when the rooms are at a rate of $250 per night. I paid $591 dollars for two nights, wasn't able to give my son a bath, wasn't able to afford my wife or myself the opportunity to use the jacuzzi tub, and walked away with splinters and ripped clothes from the boat. I just feel that for the amount of money you are paying here, these should be things you can expect.

And apparently it was the owner who was at the desk and shut us down when we tried to...

I wish I could give 10 stars… this place is phenomenal! Roughly 11 miles from Denali park entrance and nestled next to a beautiful lake overlooking a stunning Mountain View. The amenities are out of this world for what you get. You can kayak, use the fire pit at your own leisure, you get a deep tub with jets, and a balcony view to die for. The lady working the desk for the night shift was incredibly helpful and friendly. She shared a little about her grandmothers portrait in one of the rooms and let us see a view of the lake from a different room.

The swan cove was incredibly spacious with a decently sized private bathroom as well as a kitchenette. In the fridge there were two plates that included fresh fruit, raisin bread, boiled eggs, and muffins. There was also a drawer with varying cereals and snacks, with milk and juice in the fridge as well.

I didn’t want to leave the inn lol… my fiancé and I wished we cut off our stay in Fairbanks to stay at the inn and just relax. We got to see the northern lights for the first time just off of our room balcony. The only thing I would be aware of when staying here is there is a lot of wild life!!! With the potential to seeing bears and moose. I would fight a bear if it meant we could stay there forever though. BOOK...

We spent two nights in the Whispering Willows room which gave us gorgeous views over Otto Lake and the mountains behind it. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, making sure we knew about the amenities and showing genuine interest in our trip. We made good use of the provided kayaks and enjoyed the fresh-baked cookies they set out on occasion. While the decor may not be the most up-to-date, it was still tastefully finished and was one of the most comfortable places we stayed during our Alaska trip. We woke up the first morning in time to see the local moose. The breakfast they provided was more than enough for the both of us. At the time, the breakfast they provided included fruit, muffins, cereal, toast, hard-boiled egg, and juice. It was a short drive to the town of Healy and only 15 minutes to the Denali National Park's entrance. We ate at Prospectors Pizza and The 49th State Brewhouse during the visit and were very satisfied with the meals. Even though we were tourists to the area, the Inn is far enough removed from the more touristy areas that it seemed much more serene and not diminished by the typical tourist group activities of nearby rentals. Overall, we'd HIGHLY recommend staying here to others wanting comfort and views during your...

Tara and Darryl, the owners, were a pleasure to speak with. They ensured our stay was memorable and their hospitality was phenomenal. The Hotel was beautiful, quaint, and very clean. Our room had recently been rennovated and the carpentry work was meticulously done. Hotel staff at the front desk was polite and professional. I have lived in Alaska for 38 years and have always driven straight through Healy. I did not know that the Denali Lakeview Inn existed. Because of my son and his girlfriend, we had an experience of a lifetime! No longer will I pass through Healy without stopping at the Denali Lakeview Inn for a night cap. I've stayed in many a motel, hotel and B&B here in Alaska and they are unsurpassable in comparison. Our room looked out over the lake and was breathtaking. We saw kayakers, fishermen in a skiff and a momma cow (Moose) with her two new babies wading through the water. I took many a picturesque photo for a lifetime and now my photo storage is full. If you are ever in Alaska, don't miss out on the opportunity to stay with Tara and Darryl at the Denali Lakeview Inn!
