Amazing camping experience here. You’re surrounded by nature and it is the best setting to enjoy what Alaska has to offer. Wildlife is present and active, so be aware of your surroundings. The restrooms and camp sites were well kept. We were there winter camping and we were the only ones out there. It was very peaceful and we had no issues. $15 to stay the night, just know to bring cash to pay in the drop box!

The Donnelly Creek Rec Site has a grand view of the Alaska Range across the Delta River. Walking along the "dike" will give you many great vantages of the mountains. The campsites are somewhat protected from the wind by the long dike, built to protect the Richardson Highway. The Donnelly Creek across the road is dammed up by beavers, and you can usually get a view of what they do.

Even though this campground is right off the highway, it has some awesome views of the snow capped mountains. Great place to enjoy a weekend.

We learned that due to budget constraints, Alaska state parks was going to close its campgrounds but luckily nonprofits and other local establishments have taken over managing these. No trash or water here or at Fielding Lake. Blueberry lake also off Richardson had both (I believe they had water...
