Eagle Peak Guesthouse — Hotel in Alaska

This was our first time using a Google Search to find a vacation rental so we weren’t quite sure what to expect, but Richard and his two properties made our trip “Top Notch!” When Kellie and I travel we typically stay at a hotel, but when we were looked at lodging in Anchorage during the their prime tourist season I was amazed to find how booked the hotels were. We came across Richard’s property on the Google search. The pictures of his guest suite and surrounding property made it seem almost too good to be true – but it wasn’t! It was just as beautiful as the pictures. The only concern we had before we booked was, based off the map, his property seemed very remote. But everything was as perfect as it looked online and with a state highway running near the entrance of his subdivision, it took less than 25 minutes to drive downtown. All in all it was an excellent value for a great property. Richard is a most thoughtful, gracious host! He provided us with helpful information about what to see, where to go and where to eat. The guest suite is just perfect! It was on its own floor (ground level) of a multi-story house, with a private entrance. The bed is comfortable; the bathroom has all of the amenities, and they have great Wi-Fi/Internet. The location is incredible, we even saw similar wildlife as was depicted in his online property pictures. Richard is awesome. He was very accommodating and very quick to respond to any questions. The suite was very clean and had all of the necessities for a week-long stay. He is also flexible with check-in and check-out time, which was extremely helpful. We had a cancelled flight which added an additional day to our trip. Though the suite where we stayed was already booked, Richard went out of his way to make his new guest house (which was in the final stages of completion) ready and available to us. That was a treat to stay at the new guest house (which I think can sleep six people). The house has beautiful views of the mountains that form the Eagle River Valley. We are already looking at booking it next summer when we bring the rest of the family. Many thanks Richard and family for the wonderful experience! We will be back next...

Wonderful Hosts, Beautiful Location and Amazing Stay! Our stay at Eagle Peak Guesthouse in Eagle River was absolutely fantastic! The property itself was very unique, a real gem nestled in the forested hills, but what truly made our trip unforgettable were our hosts. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. My fiancé Justin and I stayed at Eagle Peak Guest House specifically the mountain house for winter into summer. There just isn’t a comparison. Richard and Katie went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of since we were new to snow and anything Alaska. From the heated floors to the huge windows everything was top notch. I spent many mornings and evenings walking just in the neighborhood and we spent our weekends hiking as it’s a perfect location to the get to the Eagle River nature center and surrounding hikes.
