Evenson camping spot was great, it was just windy and cold. Maybe we came too early in the season. Later summer visit would be great. Outhouse was great, fire was warm, plenty of space for your dog to run. There wasn’t much to do on the property, but the host or owner did offer boat rides and tons of other stuff but we would have had to walk up to the house about 1/4 mile away and it just didn’t seem ready for hosting campers. We didn’t feel comfortable walking up to their house. Fire was started for us upon our arrival. Update: I originally gave a 4 star review, but then was messaged by the host saying the 4 star reflected poorly on them and asked me to consider changing it to a 5 to maintain their stats and public opinion. I wasn’t going to mention this in the original review, but the gentlemen who greeted us at the campsite was very spastic and seemed to be acting very odd, loud, and twitching… I don’t know their story there, but none of it sat right with me and that’s my reason for now downgrading to a 3.

This spot is epic. The lodge is on an isthmus between two lakes. You see both from the Great room….and the hot tub! It’s full of original art. The hosts are amazing. There are 150 acres of wilderness there waiting for you to enjoy and explore. The creek mouth at the north end of Bishop Lake is a special wild and peaceful spot. There salmon enter the lake, kingfishers and eagles swoop, and the grasses sway in the gentle breeze. It’s an easy walk through the woods from the lodge. Every visit to this homestead is a nurturing and rejuvenating gift!

Jennifer and Paul were extremely great hosts going above and beyond with our first glimpse of their new campsites. They are new additions in the works but they are creating new campsites and they are going above and beyond. They provide amazing service and 11/10 hospitality. Couldn’t recommend a better place to camp with the family, well worth the experience for a nice slice of Alaska! We can’t wait to visit again! Thank you so much Jennifer and Paul!!

A Hidden Gem – Peaceful, Cozy, and Truly Memorable!

I recently stayed at this beautiful lodge and had an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Nestled in a scenic location, the lodge offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. The surroundings were peaceful, the air fresh, and the views simply breathtaking — exactly what I needed to unwind and recharge. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home. From the moment I arrived, everything was smooth and thoughtfully arranged. My room was spotless, spacious, and tastefully decorated with cozy touches that made it feel special — think warm lighting, soft linens, and a view I’ll never forget. What stood out most was the attention to detail — whether it was the the crackling fireplace in the common area, or the helpful tips on nearby trails and activities, everything felt done with care and pride. This lodge is truly a place to slow down, connect with nature, and enjoy genuine hospitality. I’ll definitely be back — and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, high-quality stay in a beautiful setting, and if your into fishing they provide fishing poles and tackle for...

The property was large and spacious. The scenery and natural views were stunning both from inside the lodge and outside along the walking areas. Moose were even rambling along the lake shore even though the lake water was still frozen. The rooms were clean and the kitchen and dining area was family sized and spotless. There were eight adults in our party and I found we did not feel crowded whatsoever. There were plenty of books and reading material to keep us entertained as well as a full sized pool table on the first level. Since the ground and lakes were still pretty frozen in early spring we did not get a chance to use the canoe or fish from the quaint dock Scattered around one could see available summer recreation equipment and play things that were offered for guest use. The overall lodge and property experience was stellar and I would highly recommend this place of...
