If you have children and want them to be safe while experiencing a night of camping, then Do Not Camp Here unless you want to get run over or dusted out by drunks speeding around the campground. We were registered to camp here, and spent the day riding out to the glacier, but when we returned after our day out riding the campground was filled with loud drunk and foul mouthed partiers. We packed up and left the campground at 10:30 PM on 7/26/2025, because the noise caused by drunk, loud and foul mouthed adult men racing around the campground on motorcycles and ATV's that had damaged mufflers, so it was loud and dangerous. At 10 PM, The Matanuska Susitna Borough (MSB) Park Ranger stopped by every campsite to talk to people about the 5 mile per hour speed limit, and informed us that she was leaving for the night at 11 PM, she mentioned that it's up to the police to deal with anything that happens when she leaves for the night. The MSB park ranger wasn't able to establish anything that resembled order while she was at the campgrounds, so we knew that once she departed at 11 PM the place would slide further into chaos, so we left. The MSB is aware that this campground isn't fit for families, or anyone that isn't partying. I think the only way the MSB can establish a family friendly decorum is to insert a 24 hour/day on-site host with the singular goal: establish a family friendly campground. This is such a wonderful location, it's a shame that the campground is overrun...

Dry camping isn't my favorite but this place made it well worth the stay! We loved being close to all the ATV trails. It was clean. We didn't have to deal with all the dust from the fast riders because it's not too close to the trail systems. There is a very well kept outhouse toward the end of the camping spaces. My kids weren't even afraid of it, which is saying something. There is a nice picnic table and fire pit at each of the 18 campsites. This is a first come first serve place. So head out early if you want a good spot during...

A great place to ride trail bike, atv, and SxS toys. Lots of trails and a good variety of terrain and surfaces from soft silt to sand to dirt to mud. There's usually a lot of people and not everyone is careful and watching for oncoming traffic so be warned. Camping in an RV is noisy because kids always ride through while reving their noisy two stroke screaming motorcycles. I'm there to ride also so I wish the parents would teach them to NOT make noise for the fun of...

This was a really nice campground. It's self serve, and first come first serve. The borough did a really nice job of providing a nice area for people to come and enjoy. It is dry camping, but there is an outhouse located on property. And you can take your ATV's directly from the camping g area over to the recrational/riding area.

This place has endless options to have fun. There are lots of trails to explore by 4x4 or horse riding. You can also kayak and boat nearby. If you feel like extending the adventure, there are several cool spots for camping as well. Each time I experience something new. Enjoy!

Nice campground. A little dusty from all the wheelers but spots 23,24,25, & 26 are the best ones back within the trees. Can get busy on 4th of July but over all a great area. If you don't have wheelers just know it is busy and folks like to party and have a great time.
