100% the best bed and breakfast I’ve ever stayed at. Tiara and Steven are such wonderful hosts and their service and proactive communications were next level. To ensure that folks don’t need to rent a car, they pick you up from the airport, take you on a supply run to the local supermarket, drive you to dinner each evening and drop you off at pickup points for tours and water taxi to Katmai (even when the timing was super early morning). We caught a silver salmon on our fishing trip but neither of us knew how to cook it so Steven jumped in and taught us how and basically cooked our dinner / breakfast for us. We didn’t have the pleasure of going on a fishing trip with Steven but that’s also an option if you book early enough. The bed and breakfast was super clean and well organized (and as a germaphobe, it’s rare for me to be impressed). Thoughtfully stocked with snacks, hot drinks and kitchen supplies for cooking. Well lit with beautiful large windows. There are three rooms (queen bed, full size bed and a king bed that can be turned into two twin beds) — definitely thinking of bringing friends or family next time to book out the entire place! (Honestly tempted to gatekeep this place so I won’t have to book wayy in advance in the future to come back.) As a tip for first time travelers to King Salmon / Katmai, this area essentially has no cell service other than this local Alaskan telecom company and satellite phones so be prepared to be fairly off the grid. Lots of bugs when it’s not raining in the summer so bring a bug net! Staying at King Salmon then taking the water taxi to Katmai is also a great and more economical way of visiting Katmai than the expensive day trips from Anchorage or Homer.

Recently had the pleasure of staying at the Katmai B&B after getting back from Katmai NP. The B&B itself has wonderful accommodations and comfy beds. Blackout curtains were in each bedroom as the time of year we were visiting is daylight all day. The home itself is beautifully decorated with many books to read on alaskan wildlife. The home has large windows so you can use the binoculars provided to look for wildlife on the river. A light breakfast is provided in the morning. Tiara and her team are able to coordinate times to drive you into town to go to the store or restaurant to grab lunch or dinner. They will also drive you to the airport if needed to catch your flight. They have wildlife tours available by boat and fishing tours. What I enjoyed the most out of our stay is the kindness of these folk. They are personable and make you feel right at home. My husband and I would love to return in the future!

We had such a wonderful time at this B&B. The view of the river is stunning! The owners were easy to talk to and very informative about the area and life in general around King Salmon. Felt like friends by the time we left 🤗The breakfast was more than sufficient with muffins, bagels, cereals, yogurts, juice, coffee, etc. The linens and towels were exceptional and the bed was extremely comfortable. The owners gave us rides to and from the airport, a local restaurant and to the water taxi to Katmai National Park. I would definitely recommend this B&B for fishing trips, the national park visit and just relaxing. They have tv streaming for those times that you want to be inside. WiFi is available. We look forward to returning if possible to experience any expansions in the future 😎

Our experience with Katmai Expeditions, part of the Katmai Adventure Co Family, was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. From our very first interaction, the team demonstrated exceptional communication, transparency, and a deep commitment to making our trip memorable.||We initially reached out to Tiara in January 2025 to plan our adventure around the July salmon run in King Salmon, Alaska—a peak travel time that definitely requires advanced booking. Although their Katmai BnB was fully booked for our dates, Tiara went above and beyond to arrange our excursions.||We booked 1.5 days of sockeye salmon fishing and a guided tour to Katmai National Park through Katmai Expeditions. Every step of the journey was seamless, and transportation was included, which is a major plus considering how remote King Salmon can be without a vehicle.||Our fishing guides, Davin and Kalia, were an absolute delight. As first-time fly fishers, we had a lot to learn, but their patience, encouragement, and expertise made it not only easy to pick up but incredibly fun. We were lucky enough to be their first charter of the July season, and we even reached our daily catch limits both days! They took care of everything—from filleting the fish right on the boat to vacuum sealing and freezing it for transport. They even packed it in an airline-approved box, ready to fly home with us.||The Katmai National Park tour was another highlight. We flew in on a seaplane, which was such a thrilling experience on its own. Upon landing, we attended bear school—a great introduction to bear safety and park etiquette. Our guide, Allison, was phenomenal: extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the bears and the park. She knew individual backstories for many of the bears we encountered (we saw at least five!) and helped us navigate each sighting safely and respectfully.||In every way, Katmai Expeditions exceeded our expectations. Whether you're an angler, nature enthusiast, or just looking for an unforgettable Alaskan experience, I cannot recommend Katmai Adventure Co enough. Their team's professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail truly made this a...

At the last minute, my beloved managed to book a one night stay with Tiara and Steve's Katmai B&B. Not sure how that happened, but very glad it did. The ability to book online is a big plus since everywhere else we tried wound up being a telephone tag experience that failed to produce results, so we are extremely happy with the online booking feature. The house is a basic bath and a half setup with three guest rooms. WiFi and T-Mobile / UCI cell service are available at the B&B, and though there were no "bars" my beloved was able to use WiFi calling with a Verizon phone. The great room had plenty of seating for all five guests present during our visit, with a broad view of the river. There is also a loft with seating above the main area. We were met at the airport and shuttled back to the B&B by Daven and then shuttled round trip to the Sockeye Saloon for dinner later in the evening. The breakfast consisted of cereals, fruit, breads, pastries and juices and was more than adequate by itself, though we supplemented with the second half from dinner the night before since we knew our lunch options would be time limited at the Brooks Lodge, and we didn't want to miss the bears dining just to make it to lunch "on time." We were shuttled back to the Saloon for our water taxi pickup in the morning and our luggage was waiting for us at the airport when we returned from Brooks Falls later that evening. Our stay with Katmai B&B was an all around exceptional service experience well worth the price. If we were fishing types, we would definitely have booked a fishing trip with Steve. We could easily have done that the afternoon of our arrival as another couple of guests who arrived the same time as us did just that, and to modify a Star Wars phrase, "the fish were with them." Should we find ourselves in Alaska again, we will definitely make reservations at the Katmai B&B. Our experience was...

Katmai B&B is a lovely house, with a breathtaking view of the river. Tiara is a warm and welcoming host who made sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. They picked us up from the airport, drove us to the grocery store, and the Sockeye Saloon for dinner.

The house itself is spotless, spacious, and comfortable. We stayed in a room with a window overlooking the river. The bathrooms were shared with other guests, but they were very clean. The living room and the kitchen were also available for the guests to use.

There was a light breakfast every morning, which consisted of toast, bagels, cereal, yogurt, bananas, coffee, and juice.

We enjoyed staying at Katmai B&B, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cozy place to stay in King Salmon. Tiara is a wonderful host who goes above and beyond to make her guests happy. It felt like we were staying at a friend's house.

One of the activities that we booked through Katmai B&B was a fishing trip with a guide, Joe. He picked us up from the B&B, and we drove to the river where the boat was. The fishing gear, tackle, and snacks were provided. Unfortunately, the fishing was bad that day, as it was between the runs of different varieties of salmon. We tried for Kings but never even got a bite. Joe tried his best to find a spot where there might be some fish, but he had no luck. He even went out the night before to scout. He felt bad that we did not catch any fish, and it wasn’t for lack of him trying. If we had it to do again, we wouldn’t have booked the fishing trip. We later learned that the end of July is historically between runs.

Our stay at Katmai B&B was lovely. It is a fantastic place to stay if you’re taking a trip to Katmai National Park. Tiara and Steven were hard working and accommodating hosts. Thanks for...
