Kenai Riverside Resort — Hotel in Alaska

First of all I want to say, the staff were all awesome, nice people and the location is amazingly beautiful and serene. Our glamping hub for 7 days was comfortable. Being from TX we have longer nights, I was worried about sleeping. It was very easy to sleep (not necessarily dark inside, so if that bothers you, you may want an eye mask… that also might be a cool gift basket item… Which, oh yeah they gave us sweet personal gift baskets in our tent upon arrival). The sound of the river in the background of everything made it feel like you were listening to meditation sounds all night.

Jamie was great! She checked in with us everyday. You can tell she genuinely cares about everyone there having a memorable and fun experience. Definitely the vibes of all the staff, but most of the staff had more of a laid back approach. Jamie was someone I would want to be friends with.

Secondly, the fishing!! The personal dock is so nice and relaxing. Whether you’re killing time to go somewhere or do that all day (a lot of guests did and caught their limit most days). We were there early August so there were a lot of sockeye to catch. Kevin the fishing guide would come around quite often and give tips or just chat with you.

Overall, I don’t have enough time to write all the nice things I want to about this place. If I had any critiques it would be a sandwich making station, so in the mornings you can make your own sandwich. A few lounging hammocks around the common area would be nice. Lastly, maybe transportation opportunities to some of the trips (it’s nice driving because you can see so much and take your time too or from, but maybe just an option).

Oh oh.. almost forgot to mention the dogs!! Loved them… would have taken them...

Our recent trip to the Kenai Riverside Resort in Alaska was nothing short of spectacular – a great experience from start to finish!

From the moment we arrived, the friendly staff made us feel incredibly welcome. The canvas tents, which were our accommodation, were perfect. I expected rustic, but what we got was immaculately clean, thoughtfully equipped, and incredibly comfortable. The pellet stove kept us warm, the electric blankets made it hard to get out of bed, and the beds themselves were so comfortable I slept like a baby! Even the shared bathrooms were spotless and well-maintained.

The lodge offers an impressive array of excursions. We enjoyed salmon river fishing and a successful halibut fishing trip. The bear fly-out was an absolute highlight, an unforgettable wildlife experience. The guides were knowledgeable, patient, and truly went above and beyond to make each excursion a success.

What truly set this place apart was the exceptional service. Not only did they ensure we had a fantastic time, but they also took care of cleaning and packaging our catch, making the journey home hassle-free.

Woww where do I begin? My husband and I travel a lot of places together, but nothing compared to our stay at the Kenai Riverside Resort. Jim and Kevin made our trip absolutely incredible! The fishing was amazing! Never in my life did I think I would be reeling in fish that big. Jim was so patient when teaching me how to fish for salmon. He celebrated with us with each catch and you could really see the passion for what he does. Not to mention, he's an incredible guitar player and we loved his entertainment! He set up a once in a lifetime excursion for us where we rode in a float plane, fished for salmon, and watched a mama brown bear and her three cubs for over an hour and a half. Kevin was able to set us up with all the gear we needed for hiking, biking, and fishing during our stay. We stayed in the bunk houses, and even though it was light all day and night, I slept so well. Jim made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. The meals were so delicious!! There was always a large breakfast spread waiting for us in the morning, and we would always look forward to the delicious dinners. We would end each day winding down by the bonfire and enjoying each other's company. I highly recommend the Kenai Riverside Resort for your next visit to Alaska!
