Location was convenient. Booking online was easy. I will say if you are in a longer rig you may want to pick a spot in the entrance side. We did not and although my husband is more than capable of backing in there were campers in front and beside us so the people next to us said “if I were you I would slide this log over and just drive thru”. I said you sure? She said “Yeah! We did.” So…That’s what we did….apparently that’s a huge NO NO! Their waterline is lying under slats of wood that run between all the spots on that side. After the fact they did say “well we did bust a waterline a few days ago”. (Info would have been nice to have know before I got my hand slapped. Not a big deal, but we didn’t know.) They might consider a sign or maybe rope or something not so easily bypassed would be nice so other guest don’t either accidentally cause damage or get scolded before the brake is set. ||Yes, it is obvious there’s waterlines there but at home we bury them in dirt so you CAN drive over them and they are below a frost line. I never dreamed in Alaska they would be under basically a thin wooden walking bridge. |We damaged nothing so all was fine. ||All in all the park is nice. Spots are close and tight, but grounds are kept. Accommodations are nice and clean. The few others we encountered were super friendly and I’m sure Mr Man is too when he’s not stressed about having to fix a waterline. #sorry. Had we known we wouldnt have done that. ||We tried to do laundry but you have to get quarters from office and no one was there....
Read moreWe stayed at Lazy Moose RV Park in Salcha, Alaska, and really enjoyed our experience! Nestled in the trees along the Tanana River, this campground offers a relaxing, rustic Alaskan setting that’s just far enough from Fairbanks to feel remote, but still close enough for easy day trips (about 40 minutes away).||The sites are gravel with both pull-through and back-in options, and they offer full hookups (30/50 amp), water, and sewer. The communal fire pit down by the river was one of our favorite features—perfect for winding down at the end of the day.||The park is pet-friendly, and the new owners were very welcoming and helpful. You can tell they’ve been putting in work to maintain and improve the grounds.||There are showers and laundry available, which was a big plus, although some areas could use a bit more attention in terms of cleanliness. The Wi-Fi came in handy, especially since cell service can be hit-or-miss (T-Mobile worked best for us).||We’d definitely recommend Lazy Moose to anyone looking for a quiet, laid-back place to stay that’s surrounded by nature and close to outdoor activities like fishing,...

Lazy Moose RV Park in Salcha, Alaska was a fantastic stop on our Alaskan adventure! The setting is absolutely beautiful – quiet, surrounded by trees, and right along the peaceful Tanana River. It’s the perfect place to relax and take in the natural beauty of Alaska.
The RV sites are spacious and level, with full hookups that made things super convenient. The restrooms, showers, and laundry area were all very clean and well-maintained.
What really stood out, though, were the new owners. They were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and clearly passionate about making the park a special place. You can already tell they’re putting in a lot of love and effort, and it shows in every part of the campground. They made us feel like more than just guests – more like neighbors or friends.
