Our stay at Little Bear cabins in Alaska was nothing short of magical. Nestled among towering spruce and aspen trees with breathtaking views of the mountains, it truly felt like a secluded slice of paradise. The cabin was spotless, well-maintained, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed — from cozy blankets to kitchen essentials.
We loved sipping coffee on the deck in the crisp morning air. The location was perfect for day trips to nearby hiking trails and just a short drive from the stunning Matanuska Glacier, making it the perfect base for exploring one of Alaska’s most breathtaking natural wonders. We spent the day hiking on the glacier and returned to a cozy, warm cabin where we could relax and watch the sunset over the mountains.
What really stood out was the sense of peace and quiet. It felt like we were miles from everything. The host was friendly, responsive, and gave great local tips, which made our experience even better.
If you’re looking for a true Alaskan experience — rustic charm, natural beauty, and a touch of adventure — this cabin is a must-stay. We can’t wait...
Read moreI had the most wonderful time staying at Little Bear Getaway Cabins. I was traveling with my family and friends, and we booked the cabins on a lark as a stopping place between Talkeetna and Valdez. We all fell in love immediately upon arrival—the most beautiful setting, and the most intimate, sweet details in all aspects of the cabins and surrounding property. We realized this is the place we wished we had more time, and amazingly we were able to stay another night. We had wonderful and easy communication with the host, and we were able to cook together in the communal areas, enjoy fires at night, and overall really find the relaxation we were hoping to find in our trip. We enjoyed all our excursions in the area, and each time we felt so happy and content to go back "home" and enjoy time at the cabins. Thank you to Kaydee and I cannot recommend staying...
Read moreSpectacular setting on the Glenn Highway with 360 mountain views from the cabins. Spent an early winter weekend here, enjoying the semi-rustic cabin (no running water or sink but plenty of other kitchen implements including a microwave and electric boiler for tea), staying up late to watch the aurora, and seeing the other sights in the area. The classic/essential-Alaskan Matanuska Glacier tour is only 15 minutes away and there are plenty of maintained hiking/xc-ski/snowshoe trails in the vicinity. Felt like a tourist in my own state.
Probably best to bring your own food to (re)heat as nearby restaurant options are limited (or non-existent in winter) and the nearest grocery is an hour away. While water is provided, if your group is used to highly processed municipal water you may also want to bring a gallon or two...
