Drive Parks Highlway and be amazed with the views of Alaska! From Anchorage to Talkeetna -Denali -Cantwell and all the way to Paxson. Stop for a yummy burger at MacLaren River Lodge. Continue your drive to Glenallen, gas at The Hub and it’s your choice if you want to visit Chitina and see the Copper River that provides the World Class salmon. And from Chitina, continue your journey through the McCarthy and visit the abandoned mine in Kinnecott. After Chitina, proceed to Valdez and visit nearby Solomon Gulch weir. From Valdez, you can drive back to Anchorage via Richardson Highway and drop by in Eureka. Eureka is a beautiful place where you can see rainbow on the other side of the highway and the other side may either be dark with heavy rain or bright sunny. This is the place to be for hunters. Game Unit 13 where caribou is taken 2nd week of August by Alaskan Residents. A place to be to go four wheeling! Berry picking ! Photo shoot by...

We were traveling from Denali to Chitinia to catch a small plane to McCarthy via the Denali Highway and needed a place to stay in between to position us for a flight the next day. We enjoyed the Denali Highway until we found the road closed to replace a culvert. We had to just sit and wait for a few hours. By the time we got to Maclaren River Lodge we were tired and hungry. The staff was friendly and informed us the kitchen would close in half an hour. We ordered and got settled in our cabin. It was cute but rustic. Our cabin did not have water and there was a shared bathhouse for our use. I knew this when I booked, but was all that was available and was fine. They do have other cabins with plumbing. The cabins face a small lake and the river is just on the other side of the parking lot with mountain views all around. Dinner was good and breakfast the next morning was really good. We...

If your an avid snowmobiler this awesome retreat is your heaven. It has everything you could ask for from perfectly groomed trails to flatland boondocking in the tundra to mountin pulls that will strech your arms and your will! Its absolutely epic! Of course conditions can change.. but thats Alaska. As far as the lodge.. there are no people better.. the best hospitality in Alaska Second to none.. the meals are great and most can barley finish the provided portions! Its so good you wont want to leave a morsel... yum! The lodge is warm and accomodating, restrooms and the cabins are all very clean and fresh its a great place to enjoy the great beauty of our state. We cant say enough about these guys.. excellent! I hope if you get the chance.. you too can visit this most epic part of the world from the seat of a snowmobile or whatever mode of transport can get you there....

The most relaxing place I've visited in my life! The cabins are no frills (no TV, no WiFi, no distractions) and bring you back down from the glued-to-the-phone, political nonsense, consumed by work world to a peaceful place nestled on the river in the middle of the most beautiful parts of Alaska's interior. The restaurant and bar on site has great service, good beer selection, and good food. It was also the social hub as fisherman and hunters ventured in and out for the day. I wish we could have stayed our entire vacation there.
