This was not the most well thought out campground I've been to. Fire rings 5ft away from tent bases (tents and sparks dont mix) maps in the wrong orientation, most sites are TINY campsites you can barely fit a vehicle into let alone a tent. Only the walk in sites have access to the lake... I thought this was a lake campground? BUGS BUGS BUGS and more BUGS. Fishing is tomorrow (since there's no access from camp). Which also means I have to pack everything up, and drive 3/4 of a mile down to the boat launch... Fishing was a bust. Tons of fish down at the south end but no bites. Went to the north end as well, but no action. Checked this spot off the always wanted to try list, but I don't think we'll be back.

LOVED this campground. Yes, the bugs are bad. You can see that when you pull in and you have the decision to leave if you don’t like it! The lake access they have is beautiful and peaceful. The campground host was sweet and helpful to us. I think this is a perfect place to spend the night when you’re in the middle of nowhere. And the bathrooms were super clean!

Great place to hang out for a few days. Cheap enough and you can dump your RV if you pay to stay. The water still wasn't fixed but you can go 30 miles to another campground and get water if you need it. You are in the woods by the water in Alaska so expect mosquitos by the millions.

We drove from Riley Creek Campground in Denali, heading to Valdez, and wanted a campground at least 1/2 way. There weren’t many choices for RV camping. I was skeptical about staying here, since we couldn’t make reservations in advance, and I expected all the RV campsites to be full by the time we arrived in the evening. Not at all. ||||We drove down a long gravel road, which had a nice view of the lake. Stopped at a board to pay the $12 entrance fee, and $5 for some firewood. It’s all on the honour system. We camped in the area closest to the lake, and besides our three RVs, there was only one other occupied campsite. ||||The sites were very private, and included a picnic table and fire ring. We had a beautiful view of the lake. Near our sites there was a vault toilet, and a boardwalk path to the lake. It was peaceful, with zero noise from anywhere. We did some fishing at the lake, and caught one trout. It was so relaxing to just enjoy the view and the fishing. ||||The next day there were some parks people doing maintenance work. They said they hadn’t seen any bears in the campground, which was nice to know. It’s so remote that we thought we might run into some wildlife. ||||None of us wanted to leave, but we will be...

Beautifully situated campsite with fireplace and picnic table at the pitch. The pitches are lined up in several loops in a beautiful forest. They are not too close to each other, u and additionally separated by the trees. Depending on the pitch, very close to the lake. Some of the pitches are sloping and RVs have to be levelled out. Toilets fully in order. Dumping near access road to the campsite easily accessible. We had lovely days and evenings...
