Nice campground right on the Susitna River. Organized, individual spots laid out, they take reservations or you can pay when you arrive. $15 a night for a no hookup spot. Not sure what a site with electric costs. Camp hosts were friendly, polite and welcoming. I stayed there last night 09/12/23-09/13/23. I was one of two campsites occupied. Bathrooms and showers (even the porta potties) were CLEAN!!!! Very well kept. Showers are $5 for seven minutes, actual run time per token is about six minutes and forty seconds. After a 15-30 second warm up period, the water was HOT. Would definitely stay again. Not sure if that level of cleanliness is common for this campground, but it’s not for most others I’ve seen in AK. If you’re in need of a spot to stay or shower, it’s hard to beat the...
Read moreHighly recommend this lovely, secluded campground. We dry camped here in site #3 for 4 nights. Easily large enough for our 40 ft RV and tow vehicle. We were amazed that we could get a spot here on a Saturday without a reservation but there were plenty of sites available. And we were lucky to get a beautiful spot right on the river. There are electric sites available here too but we couldn’t pass up the river view. Fresh water also available to fill our tanks before leaving. Maneuvering a large RV here is not a problem. This is a very quiet campground with good site separation and lovely helpful campground hosts. Thanks for a great stay. Will definitely...
Read moreThis RV campground is a State of Alaska facility run by a private contractor, Jeff Boatright. It is a gated campground (gate closes in the evening) on the Kashwitna River at the confluence of the Susitna River (Big Su). It's quiet with large sites, most with utility hookups. Some sites are right on the river. You can fish for salmon, grayling, rainbows & dolly varden either from the river bank or launch your boat at the launch site. Sites are in the trees with well maintained lawns. This is an ideal site for families with children. Some paved bike paths, a small store and usually not very crowed.. This is ideal place to fish...
