Last time staying at eagle cove unfortunately. Been staying here for years and things seem to get progressively worse without any form of improvement. This is accompanied by a $400 a night price tag for a cabin that has more things wrong with it than right. The shower drains are always clogged. Told the front desk on our most recent visit and it was never fixed. Nothing like standing in 4 inches of dirty water after a 5 minute shower. The ceiling fans shake so bad it feels like a gamble leaving it on while sleeping, and the beds are so bad you’re better off bringing blow up mattresses if you want to get any sort of sleep. I’d advise bringing your own kitchen silverware and utensils as well because they are always filthy. All the steak knives during my last stay were oily and multiple pieces of silverware, spatulas, etc had visible dried up food on them. All the rubber ware looks like they’ve been used on the outside grill because they are all melted to hell. We ran the dishwasher three times and it didn’t even dissolve the dishwashing pod. It continued running while the door was open and we noticed the entire top sprayer wasn’t spinning or even spraying water at all, and the bottom wasn’t strong enough to even spray water more than a couple inches upward. Lastly, I can’t stress enough how terrible the docks closer to the cabins are. They are held in place by ropes tied to a guard rail and you often need to step up over a foot to get up onto the dock walkway. Older people would never be able to make it. There are loose boards without any screws, slips that have nearly sunk completely, many missing rope anchors, and zero padding to protect your boat. The front of each slip is sharp solid metal that will tear the front of your boat up if you aren’t very careful while docking. The location is so great, but paying over $400 a night for a half broken cabin has left us more and more disappointed year by year. Getting 3 stars instead of 2 simply for the location,...
Read moreThis is our second year staying here at the cabins. I'll start by saying there is a lot to like about this place and we plan on going back next year. The view and sunsets are really great. The layout and accessibility of the marina, dock, parking, playground, fire pits, other cabins, etc are great. The cabins are also cleaned well. This year we spent extra on a hot tub, which was a great upgrade because we had one rainout day and its beautiful to watch the sunsets in. We were also quite satisfied with the general location of the resort on the lake itself. If you want just a basic place with AC, a toilet, stove/grill, hot shower, etc after you come off the lake then this is it. If you want something that is more luxurious and not just the basics, then this isnt for you. Now the bad. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a lot of maintenance that isnt being done that is keeping this place at just an average 3 rating. Various outlets not working, exposed wires, internet going out, leaky hot tubs, minimum plates/cups/utensils in each unit, missing/rotted boards on the boat dock and decks, metal fronts on the boat dock that dont have any kind of bumpers/covering, a section of the dock that is mostly sunken, stains all over the carpets, and the littlefoot cabins have the worst mattresses I have ever slept on in my life(our friends in other cabins agreed, so it wasn't just a one off). The marina only has 93 octane and charges a dollar more for it than some of the other marines on the lake. Also, do not use the boat ramp by the cabins as it is too steep and you will bottom out (only place this has ever happened to me). Use the one further down instead. I will say the staff here is friendly, and tries to accommodate you the best they can. This year when we arrived the first night our hot tub didn't work. The general manager answered when I called at 9:30pm and sent someone out that night to look. When they couldn't fix it he upgraded my cabin first thing...
Read more"Safe Harbor" is neither "safe" nor a "harbor." I have stayed here and rented boats from here for many years, I'm pretty sure last week was the last. The Safe Harbor corporation has neglected this property to the point it is ridiculous. The safety issues include many missing and broken boards on and around all docks, including the main gas dock. It is to the point that small children should not walk on them alone....and no one should walk on them after dark. The harbor is barely one, at least a third of the dock for the cabins is sunken, and has been for awhile. The docks that are usable, have no padding and exposed nails. The $50/night covered slips are available, but most of the roof is blown off, and has been for awhile. The $659/night bigfoot cabin came cockroaches and mattresses that were worn out and would be rejected by a homeless community. The running toilets kept my wife from sleeping And the window blinds were unusable.....so Hello Neighbors. When I spend $659/night, I expect better and that corporate might take $10 of that and replace a deck board so that I don't stumble and fall. Bottom line, avoid Safe Harbor properties and go with Sulphur Creek, Willow Grove or another marina that is investing back into their customers needs!!!!
Just got back from the lake this week, I stayed at Star Point. Ran past Eagle Cove hoping something improved, you see the photos that I just attached.
6-17-2024, thought I would sail by and hopefully report some improvement. You can be the judge, I'm attaching some new photos. It appears they did put some metal on the covered rental slips....on just one side. The majority of the uncovered slips are now disconnected and polluting the beautiful Lakeshore. Safe Harbor has no respect for the lake....or...
