Blue Spruce Lodge — Hotel in Aledo

Although the rooms are clean and comfortable, the internet service is completely unreliable. When I politely informed the owner/manager of the issue, she was defensive. I offered to assist, because I work in IT. She refused.||||A few days later, I needed to return. I called 3 times to make a reservation with no reply.I drove 30 miles thinking she was busy. When I arrived there was no one in the office, so I went to the door of the house on the property where she lives and knocked. She opened the door and started screaming "Get out of my house!" This was the back porch by the way.I stepped outside and she screamed "I'm not giving you a room, you complained about the service!" I replied "Ok, have it your way" There is a sign on the office saying she reserves the right to refuse service. While that may be legal, it's not good customer service. The Blue Spruce is overpriced for the services offered.||||If you want a nicer place to stay with a friendly owner, I recommend the...

My fiance and I went here to get a room then went to get food then came back and were going to unload our semi cab then park on the road as instructed to. We didn't even get a chance to unload except a bag in the room. The male owner came up to us and proceeded to yell,holler and swear at us he even pushed my fiance and when I went to get our bag out of the room. The owner started to get physical and push me several times! His wife came out she lied and said she was there the whole time when she wasn't. I kept asking if he didn't like semi drivers,he never answered me. But got more belligerent. I have scratches on me from him pushing me. The police came and he looked like he was trying not to laugh at me. I wanted to press battery charges on the owner and the officer said ' it would be quite a while before he would meet me at the station. Like he was trying to avoid letting me make a statement. We stay at this Motel every time we visit family in Aledo, Il. We have alway received a warm welcome from the owners and the room is always immaculate and comfortable. They go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The Gazebo offers a beautiful view of their flower garden and we enjoy relaxing and meeting other guests. There are several eating establishments within walking distance. We use the internet system during every visit and we usually stay for a minimum of one week every time.
