This cute little gem is 5 minutes down the road from us! We finally finished our camper reno, and we knew this was the place to try it out!! We werenāt disappointed in our decision!! We had a site right by the playground and pool so it was a bit busy, but itās a smaller place so it was definitely tolerable! The only thing Iād have to say was a bit annoying was the traffic noise from the road. But again, still tolerable! After most checked out Sunday, we pretty much had the place to ourselves which was so fun!!
We enjoyed the pool- very clean with lots of community floats and pool toys! The kids really enjoyed the playground, and we were surprised by the addition of a bounce house- that was a major hit!! They offered a bonfire and movie Friday night; bonfire and retro arcade gaming Saturday night! Very cool! The river was definitely more lazy than flowing, so we had to do a little work to āfloatā downriver between beaches, but it was still so fun! And seeing a bald eagle solidified how amazing the location is!
The bathrooms are one of the cleanest bathrooms/showers Iāve ever experienced in a campground!! The shampoo, conditioner, body wash on the wall in the shower (always full) was so awesome!! The staff and owners are busy little bees- always scooting around in the golf carts delivering wood and/or ice and checking/cleaning the sites and bathrooms!! Everyone is so friendly, and we loved that our pup was so welcomed! Joe and Kim, thank you SO much for such an enjoyable little vacation at your campground! You are doing a great job bringing that place back to life- we canāt wait to see what else you have in store! See you next...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stayed post season, so I can only speak to what itās like after high season. We got in after dark, I mean it was pitch black outside. The office was closed which we expected. The office door said to check for packet to the left - there was none. I put the phone number on the door into my phone to text and noticed I had received a text from same number. I had missed it. It gave us the gate code but not the site number. I texted for the site number but it was taking a while. I pulled out my computer to see if confirmation letter had any info. It was a bit confusing, but concluded that we were in site #1. I then received a text saying we were in site#1. š. I canāt stress this enough - it was dark! We move every 2 to 3 days and most places leave a packet with instructions when you are late, plus I canāt remember what parks tell you what site you are getting beforehand and what parks tell you when you get there. 80% tell you when you get there. I was not prepared and it was dark!! Even the dogs were like āya weāll wait till tomorrow to pee!ā The next day I was delighted to see a beautiful park next to the river. Dogs enjoyed the walk around the park, I took some pictures. The bathrooms were clean. The toilets and showers are in different rooms and you do have to go outside to go between them. I appreciated the ability to text after hours. Would stay...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Suncook River Campground in Allenstown, NH, with a group of old friends this fall, and it was a wonderful experience. We stayed in three of the campground's rental RVs, which were comfortable, clean, and perfect for our weekend getaway. The scenery was stunningāvibrant fall foliage surrounded the campground, making it a perfect spot to soak in the autumn colors. The management went all out with the seasonal decorations, filling the grounds with festive mums, pumpkins, cornstalks, and even spooky ghosts for Halloween. This made the whole place feel inviting and festive, adding to the fall charm and enhancing our stay.
One of the highlights of our trip was the nearby Headās Pond Trail. Located just a couple of miles away, the trail offered a gorgeous hike through more fall beauty, with scenic views that made every step worthwhile. The campground itself provided a great base for exploring the area and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Whether we were sitting around a campfire or taking a stroll along the river, the Suncook River Campground gave us the perfect place to reconnect with nature and each other. Itās a spot Iād recommend for anyone looking for a cozy, scenic fall...
