I've looked at this campground for a couple of seasons and finally decided it was time to give it a shot because our daughter was going camping for her 1st time and 1st vacation so it was far enough away but not to far for her to be stuck in her seat for too long. I picked our site because it was close to the splash pad. Rented our golf cart and was ready to finally arrive. Then the next 24 hours were a nightmare. To begin with, this campground advertises as being part of the Jelly Stone campgrounds. There was absolutely no sign of of anything Jelly Stone but no big deal. The young lady at the desk was not paying attention when I tried to check in. If she would have been busy I would have understood but I was the only person in the office checking in. After having to repeat my name 3 times and explaining I was checking in and had a golf cart rental she finally got up and pulled out the check ins for the day at which point she asked my 1st name again and found paperwork and she asked me again if this was my name pointing to the paperwork. I said yes. She pointed to our spot circled in black marker. Handed me the paperwork and sat back down. I asked what about my golf cart. She then replied I had to pay for one. I explained again that I already had a golf cart rental paid for and was then told by another lady in another room to go get set up and settled in and then come back for our golf cart. We went to our site, backed in and got set up. Headed back to get our golf cart and while at the office asked about grocery stores nearby. Was informed there were 3 available but were unable to tell us how to get to them.|The guy that set us up with our golf cart was the greatest and the best part of our 1st 24 hours. We take the cart to our site and head out to find a grocery store. We come back and can't get through the gate. Only to find out from our golf cart guy (grateful he was outside-grateful he was there then or we would have been locked out with groceries for the next 4 days and a tired toddler waiting on someone to come through with a key card.) that the gate will not open without a key card when the office is closed and that there is a $20 deposit for the key card. So we go to our site, put everything away and finally kicked back to watch TV. However, we then find out there is no wifi and the cable is gritty on most channels and downright hard to see on others. So we gave up and went to bed as tomorrow has definitely got to be better. We get up, head to the office for the key card so we can leave if needed. We then ask about the wifi again, take a picture of the password as it is not listed on any of the check in paperwork and the manager says, ummm I'm sorry but we have a problem. Then we find out that the site we are in is wrong. Our site is suppose to be 42 and we are in 42 1/2. The only half spot in the whole property and we are in it. As I talk to the manager I reminded her that I payed for a premier spot which included a concrete pad, sewage, water, cable and electric and the site 42 did not have a concrete pad. At this time the manager said we had no choice but to move that just because the Premier advertisement listed a concrete pad didn't mean they all had the ammenities listed. So I then said to the manager and her crew- so 1st your staff could not tell us about the key card, the golf cart, or even the wifi and now your telling me that 24 hrs ago when we checked in that it was not important enough to tell me about the only half spot in the whole property so that my husband didn't have to tear down and set up again in 90 degree weather. Her answer was we had to move and they didn't have anywhere else to put us because the folks checking in that afternoon had locked that site in. As did I. I simply looked at my husband and told him if you have to tear down and don't want to set up again pack it up to go home. I knew we wasn't getting the $600 for our vacation back but after the last 24 hrs I didn't care. I picked a spot close by to move to, but I would have understood if he chose to pack it totally up. I'm lucky enough that he cared more about my daughter and I and our vacation then the chaos we had endured. I truly do not understand how a vacation spot can shut an office down at 5 pm with the only thing open is the pool til 8. The activities listed for the weekday of our week, we went to but then they didn't have the activity as posted. We finished out our vacation and the splash pad was a hit with our toddler as I thought it would be but those 24 hrs really made us realize that even though it was a nice, quiet, and relaxing campground for the most part the amenities and issues with staff are not worth...

Our experience: Booked a trip with some family friends for Father's Day to this campground. 9 days before arrival, we read that NJ Governor had not opened pools or outdoor entertainment and we called the campground to try and cancel our reservation (we were coming from MD where things were open). We were told that because we were inside of 14 days we would not receive a refund (most other campground resorts are offering no cancellation fees, due to Covid). So, we made the trip. After all we paid full price. Upon arrival, we were met by the desk clerk who was not very welcoming - as if she was annoyed that she had to be there, annoyed she had to help us, and her demeanor showed it. Gave us our map and sent us on our way.
Arriving at our site, I noticed that my RV was dragging tree limbs - very upsetting considering this was our first trip in our brand new 5th wheel. Our site was supposed to be a premium site, but there was not anything premium about it. Overgrown and it looked like it had not been maintained in quite some time. After assessing the site, I realized that even though I had booked a premium site (43) that could accommodate a 45 ft. rv (mine is 42) with slides on both sides, I would not be able to get my rv in the site - low hanging branches and a tree just about in the middle of the site. Not to mention there was no concrete pad, as advertised for premium sites.
I "walked" back to the store and requested a different site. She told me they have not been able to maintain the sites properly due to covid. I kept my mouth shut. I wanted to say, "You wouldn't let me cancel, you charge me full price, and then you are not even prepared for the guests that DID decide to come?" Again, mouth shut. I was then told I could choose any site except for a few that she marked that were booked. So I walked the entire line down and back (24 sites) looking for something decent. Many sites lacked 50amp service and since we booked with a friend who has similar RV specs and wanted to be next to each other (thats how we originally booked from the beginning), finding 2 sites side by side, large enough to accommodate our units and 50amp service proved difficult. But we found 2... After being on location for about an hour and a half we are finally backing into our sites. Called the office after setting up and advised which sites we chose and she noted it.
The weekend weather was great. Thats all that was great. No pool, no splash pad, no playground, no snack shack, no ice cream, no activities, unpleasant staff... but FULL PRICE - $119.00 a night! Golf cart rentals are gas powered, and they ripped up and down the dirt lane all day and night coating everything in dirt and dust. The DJ (and the karaoke that comes along with it) lasted well into the night hours. My wife left the campground for a quick convenience store run and upon return the gate was closed, the office was closed, and no answer at the security number provided - she had to pull a "Hey Mister..." The office did offer me a $20 key card at check in but also mentioned we could just call the security number. I RECOMMEND THE KEY CARD.
Overall, we had a poor experience with this campground. The campground has potential, but proper training and maintenance are a must. I can go to a state park for 1/3 the price, but at least there I know what I can expect.
My recommendation: do your homework on this campground before booking. Ask questions. Drive through and look at the sites if you can. Sites 53 and 54 will accommodate 42 ft. 5th wheels and are 50amp service.
I hate to leave unfavorable reviews but I do believe they are a tremendous help to others, including management. My family and I are weekend warriors that book just about every other weekend from April - November in the Delmarva-PA area. We have our Go-To's and our Try-New's, but this Adventure Bound Tall Pines is on the do not return list and leaves us hesitant to try...
Read moreDisclaimer: I am typically tolerant and not as critical; however, this resort has a lot of work to do. If ABC is a franchise, then corporate needs to pay a visit. FYI, it's not a Yogi any longer, it is an Adventure Bound Camping Resort property. After reading reviews under the Yogi name on Google Reviews and other review sites, I am wondering if the ownership is the same. It would appear nothing has changed but the name.
I booked two 42', 50 amp sites for friends of the family and my family. When we arrived, we were met with the roads entering the property and throughout the "resort" were/are loose dust/dirt. We went inside to check-in. The female behind the counter had a personality of a snail. Not welcoming one bit.
When we got to out sites, we noticed no maintenance had been performed. Low hanging branches, holly leaves all over and multiple ant mounds...I mean multiple. There was no way we were getting our units in the sites without damaging them. On top of that, one was 50 amp, the other was 30 amp. We booked online, picking out sites based on 42' with slide-outs on both sides, 50 amp, full hook-up. Fortunately for us, when we went to the office, they told us to pick any site along the two rows we were in. It was difficult to find a site with 50 amp and a site without tree limbs or power lines coming in contact with the units, in an area they consider "premium."
A day later, the same female at check-in was asked when the ice cream/food area inside the store would be open? Her response, "We don't have ice cream" and continued whatever she was doing.
Due to New Jersey's COVID19 re-opening phase, the pool/water park were closed. It appeared the playground was open though. For a day and a half, our children played at the playground. Our children went to the playground the next afternoon and it was roped off with yellow "Caution" tape. I called the office. Families were told it was closed, due to the COVID19 New Jersey restrictions, it was not to be open.
Golf carts. The operators driving like they are on a NASCAR track, speeding up and down the lose dirt roads, kicking up dust clouds.
No employee on property after the store closed; we called security; no answer.
Our friends brought small kids blow-up pool, as we knew the pool/water park would be likely closed. An older gentleman on a golf cart came up the dusty dirt road and passed our sites. He stopped, backed up, and stopped in front of the site. Rudely he told us to take it down, stating it was not allowed. After asking why, we were told liability reasons. Did I mention the golf carts? Liability!?
The campground offered a train ride through their grounds. That was nice except the dust coming into the cars. Nice until the older man stopped quickly to tell a mother on a golf cart she could not have her child between her legs/lap; in a rude authoritative tone.
The DJ at Noon and in the evening on Saturday, that was nice. No complaints there.
Luckily for each respective family, we made the best of it. I definitely do not think their rate $101/night (with a 4th night discount) for a premium site, that was not even close to premium, under these conditions was a scam, a total rip off.
This campground has so much potential, so much. Stone or pave the roads, maybe some staff training on how to welcome guests and speak to guest, even if breaking a rule of the campground; clean up the sites by trimming branches on a regular basis, exterminate those overwhelming number of ant mounds, raise those electrical wires, re-evaluate what a premium site is, combo the sites to be 30/50 amp.
I would highly recommend until there are changes, PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY AT THIS ADVENTURE BOUND...
